But I think it’s reasonable that we sell sections at a time within a set timeframe. In reality, I don’t believe we will come close to selling the 50% no matter what day or time the game is played. Looking back at the Gretna game, which is the only one I can think kind of compares, didn’t we get more sections as the date got nearer? I appreciate that won’t be universally popular - I’m just saying it as I see it. Deary me, can't see the wood for the trees. The club has clearly requested the allocation in an attempt to halt the farcical situation where every season the old firm get exactly what they want. They've 100% done the correct thing whether we sell out or not. In actual fact being blackmailed by the SFA to pay for any non sold tickets is what the real story should be about. Of course that narrative has not been set by the abomination that is the Scottish media.

Philfigo
If this was the Saturday kick off I think we would have had alot less tickets available than we have now or sell out completely. I know of 3 season ticket holders that can't go as there sons are playing football Sunday so them and there son can't make it for kick off time. Luckily my lads team kick off at 11am so quick boost from Edinburgh to Hampden no probs. We have a very family orientated support. Rangers do not 80% are middle aged men. I think the club will donate these tickets to Big Hearts who will use the funding they’ve built to pay for transport and food and send some fans who otherwise would not have been able to attend. We’ll shift the other 600-700 that I think would be left after that as per dots above. Don’t think there are any other sections to be opened. It’ll be a Hearts sell out. The big sections hold give or take 900 seats. (Obv varying slightly per section ) As has been discussed the East Stand alone hold 12,800. If you did 900 x 14 it’s 12,600. That won’t be the exact amount but I’d think G8 may hold a few hundred.

Unless someone can say “Section X” or “Section Y” hasn’t been opened for sales then no one really knows for sure but I think we can assume that it is the front/back rows that make the majority of the numbers. As a rough range guide - 3 bottom rows around the East stand will be in the range of 400-500 seats. The 2 back rows are 650-700. This would start to get us into the ballpark figure of the 2-2.5k unsold that gets quoted (when you add the tickets still available on the Ticketmaster seat map to the front/back totals).
