The state of Aberdeen city centre offers a clue. None of them are interested in Aberdeen – the city or the club.

Not even a great manager will get them close to us before the end of the season especially with the two bigot teams next up.

Control. Milne then Cormack.

Ann Budge had contacts which brought in the benefactors. But I think likes of Milne and Cormack want all the control.

But you are correct. And it comes to bear obviously over the new stadium debacle.

They are though . We would be miles ahead of them in financial terms if Cormack and his oily fwiends were not pouring cash in

Was never going to work with Robson. They are miles behind Hearts at the moment although they should be able to rebuild with money from Duk and Miovski.

Why is Wayne not on the list.

What Bollocks.

Neil & Heckinbottom - no  chance, too expensive

Lennon - good chance

McInnes - surely he will tell them to bolt

Robbie - He will be happy in the sun just now

The rest is just for a laugh.

Think they may go for Robinson, he should be Bookies favourite

They will go for Robinson imo,

Lemon would be box office though lol 😆

Hopefully whoever it is will be another disaster.

I lived through the Ferguson years. Hated Willie miller.

since Fergie left though, they’ve been a complete irrelevance.

Good edit on your original post though😀

Alex Smith done a good job for them but they hounded him out thinking they could do better and have never been the same since.

The only city that was awash with oil cash is London - Aberdeen barely benefited like most of Scotland.

Not true. Just need to look at the people worried at what would happen if the oil stops.

Aberdeen in a a poor state.   Sack manager, one day to transfer window and Duk could be sold on with no cover 😌 I would assume a quick loan in.

"first-team coach Peter Leven, assisted by Scott Anderson, to lead training on an interim basis"

😀

I have a sneaky suspicion they might go for Ian Murray . Not based on anything other than him doing quite well with a smaller team

Yes.

The treatment he got from those nutcase Aberdeen fans was a scandal.

Much worse than a wee plane flying over the stadium.

They deserve all the pain they’ve endured since.

I would probably bet on Robinson taking the Aberdeen job.

St Mirren, like Motherwell have a ceiling he's hit. Nothing more he can do there. At Aberdeen, he's got a chance to do more, spend more and aim higher.

Edit: Plus there is a link there between the Aberdeen CEO and Robinson via Motherwell.

I agree with you about Scotland in general, but I was at Uni and working in Aberdeen 1991-97, and it was definitely prosperous with oil money back then. I understand it’s a different story now.

Was going to post my thoughts about this sacking but....I'm too upset to properly convey my emotions.

I was there at uni and working 94-2000.

went back up there a few weeks ago, its demise is massively exaggerated.

certainly nowhere near the demise of Glasgow /ayr/ virtually everywhere .

I was relieved at how it appeared to have weathered the years.

union st gardens are frankly amazing .

My son has been there for over 10 years and there are clear signs of the money tap having been turned down considerably.

Less decent shops, fewer expensive cars and there certainly were falling property prices.

Wise move for you and Doc Rob leaving to expand your careers,

Nice to see Neil Lennon's chums at the BBC have done him a turn by editing out the other 100 Aberdeen fans and leaving the 4 idiots who have paid no attention to Lennon's 'self destruct button' style of management.

Bazzas right boot

McInnes would get them motoring  again.

Robson was a poor appointment by them, Aberdeen got very lucky last season.

Neil Lennon would ruin them even further, it would be a great appointment!

Would be a sensible hire - they'd know what they're getting with him in that he's a manager with a track record in our league of winning the games he should win, finishing where he should finish, they wouldn't punch above their weight much but they'd likely stay challenging for 3rd. It's not always exciting but it would steady them (at least until he falls out with everyone and the dressing room atmosphere implodes) after a few ropey seasons.

I genuinely think he’ll be in the running for it, Cormack must wake up in a cold sweat thinking about his decision to let McIness go, Neilson is about as close a replacement as you can get. It was rumoured after he left us that Cormack was a fan of Neilson and could replace Robson.
