JFK-1
47 minutes ago, Gorgie_Rules said: 6 league wins in 21 games with Celtic and Rangers next. If Robson doesn’t go today they’ll likely give him the next two. Will be interesting to see who they go for. A comment was made at the Hearts AGM that a conversation was had with members of the Aberdeen board on the calibre of manager available for both clubs. There appears to be a disconnect between fan expectation/media reporting and who can actually be afforded. They will try to make it hard for Celtic, but they will eventually crumble. I can see them getting a pounding at Ibrox, then they can fire whoever is standing in for Robson.
EIEIO
The amusing thing for us outsiders is that the teams managed by their former coaches Mcinnes and Docherty are above them (and the vermin of course) in the League table. Can't say I hate Aberdeen , I reserve that for the Uglies and the Docksiders.
Ex member of the SaS
Maybe controversial but I can see then taking something from the Tic. Maybe a 0-0. Strange that teams who are pure dog poo can pull out a result.

TheBigO
33 minutes ago, JFK-1 said: I thought that about the run last season too, and agree it might skew the statistic. But in saying that it took Ferguson time to build a team at the sheep, it took him 5 years to build a title winning team at Utd. In my view the sheep are in this eternal hole in part because they just keep firing managers, then a new manager has to build another new team, endlessly. that's a recipe for failure. But mate, lots of folk saying this about Aberdeen. We're no different. No one is that different. It's just football these days. Look at a big bunch of our fans. The more gomeral end of the market right enough, but banners and graffiti this season!! Honestly!!! You don't get time to build an empire these days. Partly due to arseholery, but also probably partly due to the market - teams change so much these days. Bosman probably a big factor, perhaps Scotland having become more of a stepping stone than a destination too.

Wonder if they would go for Stephen Robinson I think they will. Robinson has proven he can produce a decent level. He will make his contract good though, sack me early, you'll pay for it. Just imagine him being a tough nut. Aberdeen need to find a long term manager (if you call more than 2 years long term )

AuldReekiee
Dave Cormack comes across well, IMO, but he's not half made an arse of it at Aberdeen. Brought in Glass, Goodwin and Robson and sacked them all after being shite.

jamboinglasgow
So thats 3 managers Aberdeen have had since McInnes was sacked in 2021. A real monkeys paw wish from Aberdeen fans to get rid of McInnes because his football was effective but boring. Three managers player ineffective boring football instead. Do think Robson was Aberdeen's Ole Gunnar Solskjær, the caretaker who came in to stable the ship before a new manager comes in, who overperforms meaning that the board has little choice but to give them the job in full, but in reality it was a lot down to not being the previous manager that they did well initially, plus has created a rod for their own back "you won 6 in a row, we expect similar going forward." Will be intriguing who they go for next. Will they try for Stephen Robinson or try to go outside the box.

GorgieFifeLife
Out of all the suggestions so far I hope it’s not Alex Neil. He would sort them out, too late to do anything this season though. I think they might go for a foreign manager this time if they can’t get Neil.
