ooh just like today really

From the FT on 19 November 2014.

https://www.ft.com/content/a3ba0b5c-7016-11e4-bc6a-00144feabdc0

Ms Sturgeon, Mr Salmond’s deputy first minister since 2007, enjoys strong personal approval ratings, and was backed by 66 votes to 15 for her Conservative rival Ruth Davidson in voting at the 128-seat Scottish parliament at Holyrood. There were 39 abstentions. The new first minister-elect, who will be confirmed as leader of the Scottish government by the Queen on Thursday ........

Seems like an election for First Minister to me.

Relatively pleased with the outcome. Reckon he's the least bad option imo. Hopefully brings a bit of stability, but I won't hold my breath.

I stand corrected. She won her final election before quitting while ahead and being returned to her rightful place.

Stellar.

Rishi Sunak was rejected overwhelmingly by Conservative Party Members mere weeks ago. MPs are about to crown him leader regardless. It’s a decision which will alienate activists (upon whom MPs rely to campaign on their behalf), with significant ramifications for the next GE

What do we want? A schism! When do we want it? Now!

She was parachuted into the English enclave in Embra and snuck in with a 700 majority.

Sunak reminded me of Mark Zuckerberg or something in that clip.
The more he tries to act like a normal human the weirder he looks.

Indeed.

Just checked my pension. £10K missing due to these incompetent arseholes.

Its all a big joke but these feckerz running the place have caused deaths, grief, poverty and have lied, cheated and lied again when they got caught. They dont care about you or I, just their cosy wee jobs.

The £10k isn't missing, pensions can go down as well as up.

I presume you wouldn't have complained if the value rose by £10k, in fact, you'll be looking for it to increase by more.

That's a nice conservative attitude that you have though, looking after number one.

Why have you not changed the investment portfolio in recent times? It's surely not a shock what's happening in the markets?

Rishi Rich: Voted for by 200 MPs.

Such a fine democracy we live in.

Who's going to pick the next Tory leader? The King, all on his todd?

When do the other 46million registered voters get another say?

Rishi has an early chance to make an impact by Cabinet and policy choices.

So is it open talks on rejoining the single market and agree the trade deal with India. Or is it bring back Suella Braverman and double down on taking migrants to Rwanda.

When she took over she was an unelected FM - fact

Following the defeat of the Yes Scotland campaign in the referendum, Salmond resigned and Sturgeon was elected unopposed as SNP leader in November 2014 and appointed as first minister.

You've probably been put right, I haven't read the full thread but just in case......

Appointed as first minister = elected as first minister.

"On 18 November 2014, Salmond formally resigned as First Minister of Scotland and the election for the new first minister took place the following day. Sturgeon and Ruth Davidson, the leader of the Scottish Conservatives, stood for election. The SNP's absolute majority made Sturgeon's election all but certain, and she received 66 votes, Davidson received 15 and there were 39 abstentions."
