Labour really need Scotland to win a UK election, they're in a difficult position there too!

Do you keep saying no, if the get a majority in Holyrood, to a referendum and alienate the Nationalists, or say you'll allow a referendum and alienate the Unionists.

Labour need England to win a UK election, full stop.

The seats in Scotland would definitely help, they did before.

I don't think Scotland has mattered. The only time I can think is, when the SNP pulled their support for a Labour minority who reneged on a majority yes vote for devolution. Which led to the witch.

If this coming general election is going to be a close run affair, I'd have thought the 59 seats in Scotland could easily be the difference, if Labour had back the sests theyve lost to the SNP over the years.

You'd think, but it always comes down to England. Look at 2010, Scotland voted Labour and the lib Dems went with the tory.  Scotland voted Labour from 1955 or something like that. Never swayed who got into power.

But I can tell you this, if the whole of Scotland votes snp , it won't stop the Labour Party getting to power, the Labour Party will stop the la our party getting into power, if they don't give them a referendum.  That's all they ask, a vote for independence.  A true democracy should be able to vote whenever they like. Again, Labour only needs to win a majority in England to take power, as the SNP isn't the enemy they make them out to be.

I'd bet if you asked the Labour Party if they'd like 45 sests in Scotland going into this next general election Starmer would bite your hand off! I do however take your point.

The media are gonna be smashing him in the run up to an election campaign . On the Laura K show they dragged up what he had said 4 years ago . They must have had their researchers on double pay to find that contradiction , however to be fair it’s probably not that easy to locate them as he’s full of them

Labour in Scotland is 50/50 independence/Unionists.  If Labour offered an independence referendum,  they'd get the every seat in Scotland bar the odd lib and tory.

If they had any sense they should cause they know that it’s unlikely it’ll be a yes but they will still have got their seats . A win / win

I'm sure they would. How much do Mps get these days.

And fwiw, the snp mps are enjoying the money too much. So I would care if they got moved along. Well some of them.

First poll showing SNP virtually unscathed. Not too sure about that, but highlights the points above regards Scotland and Labour needing Scottish seats to get over the line.

And going by the folk who say the brown folk fleeing war, (made usually by the US and its little pig the UK) have to stay at the first safe place. Why don't Ukrainians stay in Poland, Romania,  Moldova, Hungary and Slovakia . Because we're not ***** and we should help people.

Sit down, shut up and do as you are told, Jock.

He actually did quite a bit for working families,  but Iraq fecked it all. The Global crash was that, a global crash. That was everyone's fault in a way. The Tories used it to steal the family silver, christ, even when the world was dying they couldn't help themselves, yet there's every chance they will be back in.

You Gov polling showing the Tories getting absolute skelping of epic proportions. It has a slightly different view of how SNP fair.

It really just is how big Labours victory will be. Quite looking forward to new Lab government. I think it will coincide with a bit of a upturn in economy and some other stuff. It feels like like we’re about to move into upward cycles we see. Saying that fuvk knows the ways Wars and conflict keeping popping up 😟

You imagine they'll get a decade, at least in power, if recent polling (a big if I accept) turns out to be accurate.

Yes, it does seem like it is Labour's to lose.  Hope you are right about upward cycles and share your concern regards the global situation.

If the SNP get a kicking too, then so be it.  Being humbled from time to time is no bad thing.

This lot sound like a proper old school bunch of swivel-eyed fascist nonces.

The poll was commissioned by a group of Conservative donors called the Conservative Britain Alliance and carried out by YouGov, working with Lord Frost

I wouldn't do it for that, tbh. If you wan't to do the job properly, and you really should, it isn't a job it's a lifestyle, and one in which  your life is no longer really your own. **** that type of intrusion and constant earache and abuse.

The state of politics these days...

Last time it was Bojo the clown was seen as the less bad than  Comrade Corbyn, and this time it is the rancid Tories versus the "Ready to Govern" but don't want to advertise any policies in case it costs us Labour...

Last time I voted SNP for the first time ever as the others were just so bad. This time the SNP are are bad as the others...

WTF am I meant to do? Hopefully there is an independent standing in Edinburgh SW...
