So the actor in the story above is transgender. But he/she doesn't want to only take transgender roles. Which would mean taking roles that are portraying people who are not transgender. But non-transgender people are not allowed to take roles that are transgender. For example, the furore created here (by a transgender actor who was playing a non-transgender role, back in 2020): https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/entertainment-arts-51817383

What a surprise 😮 in other words he could only play a minuscule amount of roles .

"There were 143 responses to the study overall. This means that while those uncomfortable on transgender participation in elite women's categories outnumbered those comfortable by 10 to one from the respondents, the results cannot be taken as representative of how elite British sportswomen feel across the board."

I like how they stick this in there as if the 10/1 ratio would be seriously overturned if only more has responded.

The BBC is just propaganda these days. It's actually quite sinister.

And then they have the cheek to do things like "BBC Verify"

The Groningen study followed >2700 teens and the findings have shown that out of all the kids who were unhappy with their gender, with no treatment 88% of girls and 98% of boys found it resolved if puberty was left to run its course.

So transgenderism in children if left untreated almost entirely disappears .

So it would appear it’s not genetic nor innate.

The implication is , it’s a phase

Recognised by who?

The dictionary only describes it as a derogatory term for radical feminists.

You’ve said it is “widely recognised as a hate term” and now it is “probably a hate term.”

What is a TERF, BTW?

OED definition:

2008–

A feminist whose advocacy of women’s rights excludes (or is thought to exclude) the rights of transgender women. Also more generally: a person whose views on gender identity are (or are considered) hostile to transgender people, or who opposes social and political policies designed to be inclusive of transgender people.

Originally used within the radical feminist movement. The author of quot. 2008 (a trans-inclusive feminist) has stated that the term was intended as a neutral description; however, except when it is a self-description, TERF is now often used with derogatory or dismissive intent.”

A derogatory and insulting term for people with gender critical beliefs ? It’s a protective characteristic under the equality act 2010 and in various human rights legislations .

Here's some more protected characteristics under the equality act 2010.

Types of discrimination ('protected characteristics')
It is against the law to discriminate against anyone because of:

age
gender reassignment
being married or in a civil partnership
being pregnant or on maternity leave
disability
race including colour, nationality, ethnic or national origin
religion or belief
sex
sexual orientation

Pity you just pick and choose the ones you like and ignore the others.

She’s now being ridiculed for not looking like a  “ real “ woman . Thing is there is no “ real “ woman look but they all have one thing in common . They are all adult human females . Keep up the good fight Martina , you absolute legend .

As much as I agree with calling out this gender nonsense, that’s a pretty crass tweet, IMO. This isn’t about winning points on social media and ‘sides of history’. As a public representative, this chap should be focused on better outcomes, not willy waving.

It’s not a win.

it won’t change minds on the gender crowd.

they are too invested in it.

if you had allowed

your daughter to cut her breasts off, or your son to sterilise himself - are you changing your mind?

no.

pharma will continue to fund one sided research that shows them to be right and protect them from litigation, so eventually it will start again.

That's just downright nasty and although there's a lot in the gender debate that I know sweet FA about and understand even less, it confirms my suspicions that a lot of the trans rights folk are just vulgar bullies out to stomp all over everybody else's rights at all costs and to Hell with anyone who is offended by their overly aggressive approach.

I may be wrong but I don't recall Martina ever trying to belittle or bully anybody over their identity and rights while she herself was developing her career against the prejudice that existed at the time.

Gender reassignment is utterly nebulous .

it’s a non- definition .

it includes full surgery to changing your hair .it defies categorisation.

It removes any possible protection that women may desire to protect - not demand as they already had those rights- they are seeking to protect what they already have

The vast number of kids - especially body hating young women/ wanting out of their body and place and into another should have rung massive alarm bells.

How many kids from your generation are now living as the opposite sex?

Barely any.

Despite that avenue being open to them for a long time.

How many killed themselves in their teens ?

A lot less than now.

Whatever is happening , it’s not right.

Society is suffering a monumental breakdown  and kids are struggling to see where they fit into it and scrambling around looking for this and falling prey to suggestion and trends and bad faith actors .

They need support, and help.

And I suspect they actually need their dads.

Guess the next step is to stop all the pronouns stuff, as that has been acknowledged as not a neutral act, and is essentially treatment

Not calling someone what they want is not discriminating .

What is gender reassignment?

Gender identity and gender reassignment are different things .

Sex and gender are different things .

You can change gender many times over a lifetime , but that does not grant access to single sex spaces.

You have changed gender , not sex, so there is no discrimination.

It’s true though.

Humans cannot change sex.

Gender is a performative stereotype that you can change at will, and change back if you wish.

gender and sex are different.

One sex has asked that it be protected from the other , regardless of its gender.

The other sex has asked that it’s gender be recognised as its sex, and women have said “no”.

Meanwhile people have been telling children , who don’t really understand the difference that they can change sex- all they have to do is take life changing treatments they cannot consent to and then they are that thing , when they are not .

its a con
