Maloney / Hibs - Lee Johnson appointed ( Merged )

Is there any chance that Hibs won't have to pay Maloney any severance given that he hasn't passed his probation yet?

Interesting take , one despite all thats said publicly Id agree with. There was a group of players at East Mains who did not buy into his ideas. How much that filtered through the rest may never be known. 💯 agree theyve gone to David Gray as a measure to try and avoid being caught.

His words last week were noted and the ones after the game Id imagine did not go down well.

100%, like I said earlier in the thread, his interview last week was the nail in the coffin, the result and his subsequent words were simply the hammer.

Ronald Villiers

They are a complete basket case of a club.  I wonder if Ron is Romanov in disguise.  Just waiting on the Scooby Doo mask removal.

We looked around and then realised the right man for the job was already here.

Not only maloney but Caldwell as well. Must be a pretty penny.

then if they hire someone who is attached to another club they will have to pay compensation for that as well.

Child labour doesn’t tend to be contractual.

Tbf it was hibs best ever result against us at the national stadium.

and the vast majority of their attendees stayed till the end of the game too. Massive backing for the manager(sic)

That's a big rebuild needed with the squad they have.

Relying on Boyle for a couple of years didn’t help and signings like Mueller, Melkersen and the loan players don't leave much.

Chris Cadden basically and the huddies in defence.

So they are now paying off Ross and Maloney and if they want to get anyone in half decent they'll need to pay compensation to get him in , absolute shambles of a club

This group of Hibs players must be at the lowest confidence point in the league. They have been responsible for two managers losing their jobs now. ****ing halarious.

3 1/2 year contract too - they're leaking money faster than a very leaky leaky thing

He didn't even make the half year of a 3 and a half year contract, plus sacking 3 other coaches. That is going to be very expensive (they are probably still paying Jack Ross as well.) Will limit their options on a new manager and signings in the summer.

Also makes me laugh as last week Maloney was saying he was already speaking to transfer targets.

3 years salary,  I reckon 300k-400k at least. That’s their transfer budget away 😀

Please be true.

He'll come in with a 'great pedigree' and be all hyped up for a few months before the inevitable.

Don't go raising my hopes like that 🙂

They're two points above third bottom St Mirren, who they play on Saturday. If St Johnston beat Dundee then it could be down to five points with four games to play, aka squeaky bum time. That bottom six has the makings of a real dugfight, while we are sitting pretty in guaranteed third place and a cup final. Not that I'm gloating you understand, especially given the role that most of these clubs played in kicking us in the teeth two years ago.

I think his and the medias re framing of how the match went on Saturday cost him too.  Totally delusional thinking .

I hear Maloney was worried about being overlooked for bigger jobs. Or indeed, any job.

Oh come on eh. its a wee shame the guy has lost his job.. :)

jack D and coke

Almost feels like some payback for his dive against Takis in 2006 that it’s been two games against Hearts that have ended him.

Thats extremely petty and silly of me I’m well aware but **** it

Ron will be advertising for a soccer manager on a 3 month contract, which may be terminated at any time.

Not sure of the exact figure. But he was comfortably the highest paid manager outside the old firm.
I’m told as was Ross before he was punted.

What serious manager is going to want to take over from him. Jack Ross sacked the week before the league cup final and Maloney after 4 months 🤪

Surprised by that, and a bit annoyed because I don't think he would have turned it around next season.

Still, plenty time for them to sleepwalk into a relegation playoff under their caretaker manager.

We better try and sign Charles- Cook asap then before he joins Hibs. He would be their new Boyle.
