The question is did he walk or was he pushed? Got a feeling he’s seen the writing on the wall there and walked.

Was told this was happening Saturday night actually.  Was hoping it was just gossip.

Good news is it'll cost them a bucket, as did Ross.

Frankly, he was gone as soon as he opened his mouth last week in the buildup.  A defeated little man.  And his post match.  To get beaten in a semi by your rivals and come out with all the "best we've played stuff"... loser.

What a gamble Maloney took taking that job by the way.  If he wanted in to management, it was never the path!

Caldwell until the end of the season then another Yes man for Ron the Con.

While we continue to strengthen throughout the summer, they'll be scrambling about for a manager and more loan signings.

:pleasing:

He has done poorly and certainly the wrong person for the job, but the problems for Hibs ran deeper than just the manager. Do Hibs fans trust the board to make the right decision over the next manager so soon after making the wrong decision?

No, Caldwell is out as well. David Gray has got the poisoned chalice.

Football teams have ridiculous expectations.

With a bit of luck he could have made top six, and had Gordon not pulled off a fine save they might even have got into the final.

(I'm delighted that neither of these things happened, of course. )

In any event, they should never have got rid of Jack Ross, who reached two finals last season when they also had their highest league placing for a long time.

Utterly mad.

Decisive.

Credit to Chris Iwelumo who called it a few weeks ago. Said on Sportscene if he lost the two games he'd be gone.

Ron the Con strikes again.

I bet Jack Ross must be laughing his cock off right now.

FTH.

Ross has been massively critical of them since he left and has not shied away from it while on tele or radio. Even on Saturday on BBC he was slaughtering them. You can see why now.

On reflection, he was actually doing a really good job with the dross he had at his disposal.

Definitely. Maloney trying to blame him too was ****ing pathetic.

Lovely. A nice inexperienced manager for their relegation run-in :laugh2:

Is that Iwelumos first shot on target?

Sack 2 managers in one season, don’t make top 6 and have a half empty stadium every week. Fire sale this summer I think

Absolutely. Their turmoil doesn't just simply end with Maloney going. There's something rotting in the state of Hibernian.

Gutted about that tbh, however.....

Steve Kean, come on down!

Now THAT would be just wonderful.  Please, please, please....

I'd think the idea is that they're shitting it at being pulled in to the playoffs and D Gray will be able to get the lads more up for it in these last 5 games than Maloney who very obviously didn't command respect.

However, if Steve Kean gets the job, I'll get the gush.

Seems totally pointless to do so now, they wouldn't have got relegated with him in charge IMO, now there is an increased chance of a spiral into the play off place,
