If we could improve on 4-5 points per season then there’s no reason to not be able to split them in 5 years time. Small gains every year and then look back in 5 years time. To try and do it in one season will only set us back further and would be far too expensive. I’m happy that Joe and Robbie along with the backroom team, are more pragmatic in their approach than our Fanbase Definitely - and although as football fans we want glory and trophies right now, we'll (hopefully) all still be here in 5 years time supporting Hearts, so we might as well work steadily towards a long-term goal. Think back to 5 years ago - we finished fifth, 12 points behind St Johnstone and 4 ahead of Partick Thistle FFS. We've made progress since then! My point still stands we wouldn't have paid anywhere near that

cosanostra
What sort of fees do you guys think we paid for our signings so far? I'd guess Rowles -300k Grant - 200k Cochrane - 175k The other two, probably 2 or 3 months wages as a signing on fee. Obviously we might end up paying Dundee United more if the tribunal goes against us.

Tom Hardy’s Dug
I wouldn’t be overly concerned about a higher than normal percentage fee if we got Ellis cheaper than his market value- swings and roundabouts. Betrer than loaning him for another year and getting no return when he leaves at the end of this season having developed him for 18 months. As with squad additions, our financing of deals will have to be innovative and incremental in order to get players we might not otherwise be able to afford.
