I meant to flag up the match of the day for you: Maxime Cressy and FA-A are only 3 and a half hours into their match. Switch to it if you can. The winner could well be in the last 4.

Most of the other players don't know how to deal with a full-time serve and volleyer like Cressy anymore, as was shown when he got to the Eastbourne final last week. He's a good bet to go quite far...wish I'd put some money on him today against FAA.

I’ve decided not to watch it . Too painful really . Best to remember her as supreme champion she has been .

She managed to get a break up but Tan came back to life. Serena doing ok, some moments of brilliance but clearly lacking fitness...and of course, is old.

Neither of them looks like an athlete. It's a bit like watching the club championship at my tennis club.

Obviously this is all relative to having watched FA-A and Cressy just before this. There's no way I could get a point off either of them.

That spell where they took over 25 minutes to complete 2 games looked like a war of attrition, though.

Brazenly streaking my Simona Halep gag. My lawyers will be in touch about royalties.

This match may not be the highest quality but its bloody gripping! Big Serena boot giving up without a fight and Tan not taking advantage of Serena's age and heft.  Championship tie breaker off to a good start.

I prefer Serena’s knockers !

First to 7 (2 points clear) in normal sets but simply first to 10 in final set.

I don't know if that's Tan's wee sister or niece but rather nippy 😁

Deck knows. Tan will be out next round . Usually happens with giant killers

I defo think that's Serena last. You could see it in her man's eyes.

Whether she bows out at the US, who knows.

Martina sounded gutted. Balding last word for the loser.

Well done, Tam. 4-0 down in a tie break and still wins. Great player to watch.

Some years after the Isner/Mahut abomination, they brought in fresh rules to prevent that ever happening again. However, being Wimbledon, they couldn't do the same as other tournaments. At first, they let the final set get to 12-12 (possibly 9-9) before going for a first to 7 tiebreak. I've not paid attention as to when they opted for the championship tiebreaker but it's been used in doubles in Master's tournaments for a few years.

Martina knows a great champion when she seems one . She’s always appreciated great  players . End of an era I think . No way has Serena a chance at the US open .

The Australian lad spitting at people.

And why would you sit and eat during a press conference.  And it's Argos not Argoes.

Nadal v Djokovic every second day, please. It's a different sport when these two collide.

Yeah it's pretty disappointing to see, I mean not even hitting the target, I'd have just grabbed the spectator by the ears then spat in their face.

Andy Murray regularly scoffs a burger during press conferences and it's made out to be fine, which I agree with, the athletes need for refueling comes ahead of the pigs asking the questions.

Raducanu getting found out along with Norrie.

Edited to add that I hope they can turn things around.

Not a good day for the British players so far, Penison already papped out earlier too.

The boy that Norris is playing, Munar, is playing very well. I wish Norrie would be more aggressive sometimes too, too often he just taps the ball back into play and lets the opponent stay in the point, when you think he should be going for a winner.

Edit - and there's Norrie getting broken again, and about to lose the 3rd set

Garcia is a good player, in good form and Emma struggling a bit with her power.

What happened to the cameraman there??

Good fightback from Norrie, now up 2 breaks in the 4th

Yes that’s good. I can’t understand why he’s not given as much media time as other British players as he’s number 1 .
