All roads lead to Gorgie

All the weaknesses in Murray's game have now increased ten fold. He should have called it a day long before now!

Tbf he played well today. Nothing you can do if the other boy is serving like that. I think even Murray in his prime would have struggled today.

36 aces man...what a joke.

Said it before, they need to get rid of second serves.

Bang on. You don't get two drives at golf, you don't get 2 serves at squash, badminton or table tennis.

Ridiculous rule that allows Isner and his fellow giants to just have a lash knowing he will have second go.

His record overall shows he does okay and as soon as he plays top player he loses.

He may be a nice guy but he would make you switch off TV as soon as he plays.

Nah I don’t agree

Retire and save my eyesight from this shite

Yes he really needs to

Isner was phenomenal.  He's a lot more than just a monster serve.  He'll get picked off in the longer points as his ground shots aren't big but he's got great touch.  Keeping the points shorter is a must for him vs a top player.

Yep

Well as could in the circumstances. I think he would have got to a few of Isner's drop shots and his first serve would have been better when his body was in better shape though.

At the very least they should do away with 'lets'

Please no!

They trialled it in junior tennis when Knightley Jr was in his pomp. I watched a kid receiving a serve from a good server, so he was back begins the base line. Ball thumped the tape and flew up; receiver remembered he was expected to hit it and pulled his hammy trying to get there. Match over at 2-1.

There's a variation where the receiver can select whether to play a let ball. That's more fun and can speed things up a bit.

No, no, I mean call a let as a fault. I mean, bad enough two chances to get that serve in but a third??? Ridiculous.

There was a match yesterday, I think between Katie Boulter and a French girl, where the French girl seemed to be having problems with a really low serve that was constantly hitting the top of the net for lets. It was taking about 5-6 serves for her to get every point going!

Exactly this sort of shit. It's nonsense.

The other thing I'd get rid of are, and I love you Venus but you're the worst, these 'bad' toss ups...

"sorry"...

Are you hell. It's gamesmanship.

One toss...if you put your back out then tough shit.  🙂

Tennis players are proper athletes

some running almost non stop for 3-4 hours +

Footballers play 90 mins and then are tired after maybe 2 games a week

on average a tennis player will run 2.5-6.5 km per match footballers average closer to 10 km in a shorter time

Different kind of running though, footballers tend not to be flat out very much.

 Non stop for 3-4 hours. They sit down every few games, have a drink, walk to the back of the court. bounce the ball a few times. More nonsense from you!

He is popular but he doesn’t really register with kids playing the game these days as he’s been off the lace for so long. They are all about the Big 3 (with Alcaraz bubbling under)

Bursd tennis is mostly "rally until unforced error" (usually hitting the net) or double faults.

An actual winning shot is a rarity.

It's piiiiiiiiiish.

Good for Watson. Always had soft spot for her as she gives 100% effort every game she plays.

And folk that give Raducanu a hard time...bet Pliskova, a former no. 1, would love to have a Slam like Emma does. 🖕😁

Folk that give Raducanu a hard time are clueless. She's already achieved something that most never will, she appears to be happy (judging by her latest interview), is intelligent and wealthy.

Pliskova very consistent but can't get over line in slams.

Never rated Pliskova . Another one who is far too inconsistent .

Hardly “ clueless “ have you actually seen her play ? Has Limited power , accuracy and a feeble serve . Imo

Time will tell but I cannot see anything outstanding about her . Seles , Graf , Hingis , Evert et al were way above her league at that age
