Maybe as much about Douglas Ross as anything Angus Robertson is a statement about a lot of things. Joanna Cherry wanted to stand in that seat. But Angus is a unity candidate. He is bringing experience but also some degree of support to Nicola. He'll help bring people in line behind her. He might actually achieve things whatever area he gets to lead on. He is bringing a bit of quality to the Parliament. He is also a curious break from Salmond. Presumably close to him at some point. But obviously a big big break from him now.
