Last time we looked like someone who had overdressed for the party, a class above, now we are just so far ahead because the others a sooooo bad at taking points off each other. For years we always need the annual overhaul, other teams are tweaks here and there, but us, we recruit horrifically and run a pointless academy. We should not recruit another player for 2 seasons and force the young boys through, force the coaches to develop the player types we’re spunking cash on. upgotheheads
By my reckoning we need 12 points from the last 7 games to be sure of winning this league, assuming Dunfermline win every game and manage to improve their GD ratio by 20 goals over us. I think we can start to relax. I posted the above on a different thread earlier if anyone thinks it's familiar. We should be able to have a count-down every time a game involving Raith or Dunfermline is played. I don't think any other team is remotely a threat. No if we Win the next 3 games its official as we play the pars. They cannot catch us if they lose to us and we win any 2 other games. Even if the pars beat everyone else then they cant catch us. Only 1 of the 3 below us can catch us. They play each other. Chances are they wont match our current haul. Leaving us 7 games to pick up points. I don't claim to be a mathematician but in my post I did say that Dunfermline had to beat everyone, including us obviously. If we can get 12 points from the other games then they have to overturn the gd as well. I probably should have said that we need 13 points from the next seven games. I'm not convinced we can beat Dunfermline away, we haven't managed it so far, however I seriously doubt that Dunfermline will not drop points in their last nine games, they've dropped six in the last five. So until we have that many or Dunfermline lose or draw that is the figure I will be going by. I think their two games in hand are Raith and Scumdee at home. Raith play ICT tomorrow night at home so chances are both likely to drop points IMO.

Yup, if you look at the current points totals of Raith, Dunfermline and Dundee. They have now reach 2/3 of the season completed. Dunfermline on 30 have average 15 points every 9 games so would put them on course for 45 points. Raith on 29 points are 14.5 points every 9 games, so you argue again they are on course for around 45 points. Dundee on 27 have an average of 13.5 per 9 games so would be on course for 40.5 points. Dunfermline did get 18 points in their first 9 games after getting 4 wins and a draw in their first 5 games (and in the 9 games had 5 wins, 3 draws and 1 loss, a fantastic run.) So even if they had another amazing run of 9 games like in the first 9, that would still only put them at 48 points maximum, something which only requires us to really win our next game. Every team needs to win their games to avoid relegation or establish play-off places - it's one of the factors that makes the Championship a much better competition than the Premiership in my opinion. Alloa at the bottom could still theoretically finish second, so every game from now on is going to be an attack fest because winning three points will be much more important than just not losing. Hearts will benefit most from this situation, as we'll hopefully see on Saturday. Just for fun I'm going to predict that we will officially be declared champions on 30th March after the Raith v Dunfermline match.
