The league is clearly going to be suspended in a week or so, they may as well just start now rather than delay the inevitable.

Hibs home games will be fine then.

This might be true. Seems to be heading that way. Not on SPFL website or anywhere else I can see.

Not you as well Mikey!

Only Hamilton home games going ahead then.

I can't imagine the games will remain unaffected.    Closed doors games maybe initially but there are still financial implications which will hit very hard.    Cancellation of further games is still very possible.    If this has to happen then the options are:

Season null and void.    Highly unlikely.

Games postponed and season carries on later?    Logistical nightmare.

Season declared completed (Hearts relegated).     Bit unfair to deprive a club of the still realistic chance to avoid relegation.    One club (us) stands to suffer more than others.

Cancel relegation and start next season with 14 teams (Premiership + top 2 in Championship).    Unfair on other Championship sides who lose out on the play-offs.     16 teams (Prem + 4).     Fairness wise it's the best all round but would face opposition from old firm filth and various others who would say it would cost them revenue.

But everyone is going to lose money.    Fairness to the maximum number of clubs should over-ride everything else.

All solutions are riddled with problems.

Dundee utd, like Liverpool have won the league's already ( arguable)

My solution merge top 2 leagues 22 teams.

Bottom league 20 teams.

But unfair if a Falkirk or Raith get a bit clear.

Lowland league winners?

One season only, league positions at the end of 20/21 split back to smaller leagues.

There is an old firm game at the weekend that must go ahead.

If Livingston lose the gate money for example, how do they pay their players?

When a player inevitably gets it, they will need to suspend.

True. Cant field a team if they are all self isolating.

Numbers about to jump up today cases wise too.

Could this genuinely save our premier league status.

Coronavirus....our best signing in years!!!

Or it is a real document, that was drafted in anticipation of the current situation?

Just been reported that an EPL team is testing 3 players for Covid 19. If they have to start isolating squad members how on earth can they continue to schedule games, behind closed doors or otherwise?

I don’t think it’s anything to do with it. Ultimately the football authorities have no say in whether or not matches are Wholesale suspended or played behind closed doors. That will come direct from government, perhaps today, almost certainly in the next week.

Leave him alone. He still believes Levein will turn things around if he came back so that is what you are dealing with.

Saw the Lombardy Hearts guys were over at the weekend most of them at Tynecastle on Friday for the tour , Saturday for the game and Sunday for the plot ceremony. Bit surprised we've no cases yet.

The delay will prevent angry old firm fans from having an excuse to be angry. Trust me the delay is deliberate.

You're surprised no one's been infected?  About 0.01% of Lombardia has the virus ffs

So they will let 50k people gather on Sunday in Glasgow, adding further strain to the already stretched emergency services (and subsequent impact on A&E) before shutting the gates? Absolute farce.

I was being slightly tongue in cheek. However nobody knows the percentage who have the virus as like many viruses many people carry it without showing any symptoms themselves but are capable of infecting others. For example , the guy in Brighton who went skiing in France and then closed down a doctor's surgery , think they called him a super transmitter or something.

Why are we desperate for the government to act? The SPFL have all ready said that if the worse came to worst then they’d declare the league as is. We will be waiting till Sunday and hoping celtic win. Monday league declared.

You really think government Coronavirus strategy is being set aside because of a dead rubber old firm game ?
