Aye, the Prodigy were brilliant.

Going to Scaler at Sneeky Petes next Friday. Slight difference in scale, if you will, from the OVO.

Haven’t been to Sneeky Petes in decades.

QOTSA were far better tonight at the Hydro than when I saw them at the Usher Hall in 2019(?).

Homme was on form. The band delivered a cracking take of God is on The Radio during the 'encore' and also dug out Burn The Witch which I've never heard them play live before.

Sneaky's has been the best / most important music venue in our city for many years now.  It's run by music enthusiasts who consistently bring great bands / artists to a wee 100 capacity venue in the Cowgate.

I would have gone to BM if it had been a full band show. Mind you, my hearing still hasn't fully recovered from the last one!

I wouldn't recommend a Mogwai show in that case!

You could do worse than head for Doc Holliday's Saloon; 2nd Ave off Broadway.

Some awesome artistes to be seen.

Oh, and look out for Hillary Klug on the junction of 2nd Ave & Broadway.

Feel free to give her my regards. 😁

I have tales to tell, but too much for this thread. 🤭

Did you go for a sail on the Gen Jackson, if yes, which was it day or night?

I did not, but have had a quick look and it'll definitely be on my agenda next time, so thanks for the tip.

I'm partial to touristy things and that looks like it would be top-notch.

I don't think that we've ever been anywhere without missing out on stuff ... never enough time.

All of the music venues we visited were really good with some better than others but none were in any way disappointing.

For those who'd like a look, here's the General Jackson:-

They were excellent.

I really enjoyed The Chats too. Energetic set, they just blasted through it 😅

The Chords on Saturday.

A blast from the past for some, a never heard of them from many others 😄

However one of my faves, seen them once before back in the day so looking forward to it.

Far From Saints were impressive.   They added a number of covers to their set - two Tom Petty, a Cheap Trick, an Allman Brothers, and Cher/)Nancy Sinatra.

No Stereophonics songs despite Kelly and Richard playing.

Setlist similar to this:

Bob Mould tonight for me as well.

Saw his solo electric show at Oran Mor last year and imagine it will be a similar set

Potential new venue to be built in Edinburgh Park. Clearly early stages at the moment. This is what is currently a big empty field just behind Edinburgh Park Station.

Any new arena has to at least match the capacity of the Hydro (13.5k IIRC) or acts will book that instead.

It's The O2 who are behind it so there shouldn't be an issue getting acts to play there.

There will when it comes to money.  Facts are they could get another 6k approx at the Hydro.

Enjoyed Paul Dianno in Bannermans last night doing an Iron Maiden set.

Despite not being in good health he sang well and the band were pretty good.

Booked tickets for The Damned at the Barras next December.  Its the lineup from Strawberries and Black Albums plus Monty.

Good job I didn't book for the castle gig then. 😐

Not a huge fan but I do fancy this

Heard it was good.

Saw Husker Du at Potterrow back in... the mid-80s sometime. Wild.

It was good but would have been great if he had a band.  It was just him with an Electric guitar.

Scaler played a blistering set at Sneeky Petes last night. They hardly paused for breath. It was great to see them in such an intimate venue as I’m sure their sound, industrial techno ish, could fill a stadium. Touring the UK next year. I’d definitely go to see them again.
