I will Dawny, Levelling the Land Revisited tour, first and best album in my opinion. Messaged Mark to ask him to rip daughter to pieces for daring to sleep through a set in 2002, to be fair she was only 2 at the time. He's read message but not replied so she might get a nice surprise on Friday

Hopefully she does get the surprise 🤞

I always thought Jeremy was a great guy, Mark not so much, my mate was in a band that supported them a few time, The Impossible Moon, and they weren't very nice to them.

I'm actually surprised at that, I first got into them because they were all bikers and gave the Motorcycle Action Group big support hence my 2002 post. They were playing (not for the first time) at "Stormin the Castle" in County Durham for MAG.

I was surprised to, as was my mate, it was just before their high point and maybe it was a bit of success going to thier heads, but they didn't help where they could.

Most bands/musicians do tend to help one another too. First bike rally I took my daughter to was near Berwick upon Tweed, weather was horrendous on the Saturday so everyone was inside, Saturday nights band turn up to set up their gear. Turns out they were all members of Northumberland Police. Another unplanned band showed up (schoolboys) and asked to play for nowt. Guys raised a lot with a whipround but polis guys hung around and gave the young uns lots of advice. Was good to see.

Anyone else going to see the Levellers at the O2 on Friday? Going with wife and daughter, meeting another poster who may sound a bit like a religious leader from Tibet in Jessie Maes half 4ish if anyone else wants to join the party.

Mind and catch the support act.

Barstool Preachers ( another Brighton band)

Played at few times at the Dreadnought, lead singer is the son of Colin McFaull of Cocksparrer.

Always  put on a fantastic performance.

Had tickets for Hogmanay about 4 years ago, pissing sideways rain and we just thought "how long to wait for a taxi"? We stayed in.

Booked tickets for Depeche Mode at O2 in London in January. Got a B&B booked too. A friend saw them in Dublin and said it was an excellent show.

Boston Jambo

I'm working the bar at MGM Fenway and getting to see some good bands while making money at the same time.

This week, amongst others  I got to see The Saw Doctors, Noel Gallagher, and Garbage.

Anyway I guess Pep never made it onto the team bus cos I found him lying face down backstage the next night.

Thurston Moore at Mono tonight - Deb Googe from MBV on bass.

Levs were good last night mate, a few tracks that were newer but mostly from the 30yo "Levelling the land".

Thing I did find out though is my 62yo legs can't bounce for 90 minutes anymore.

Going to The Killers at The Highland Showground at Ingliston at the end of August.

Living in Newtongrange, what’s the best option for getting to and from there? I’m guessing the car isn’t the answer.

Maybe somewhere I can take the car to park up cheap or free and take a bus or tram?

£11 to park at the venue.

Otherwise there's a park & ride at Ingliston, 2 minute walk. 1000 spaces, so might get busy? I've not actually been to the showground for a gig before. Booked parking for this concert.

I'm off the see Miki Berenyi at Mono in Glasgow tonight. It's an in conversation event followed by a live set by the the Miki Berenyi Trio. The last time I saw her was when Lush played at the Queen's Hall in 1992.

Devo, meet and greet £300. (Don't think I'll bother).

I was tempted to see Devo but the £70 ticket price at the Corn Exchange is taking the piss.

Sounds good that, how was it?

I was at that Lush gig at the Queens Hall. Brilliant it was. As a teenager, major crushes on Miki and Emma.

I saw Bob Vylan last year. It was my first experience of seeing or hearing them ever. I was a bit critical of them live but I gave them another chance by listening to their album and I have to admit I absolutely love them now.
