Numpty that should be dealt with after this crisis IMO.

Not the right time for it.

It is the right time. Sturgeon can show that nobody is above the law. She has to be sacked.

Now I agree. Twice, FFS! She needs to go, if she's good at her job use her knowledge behind closed doors.

""NHS England figures – which make up the bulk of UK deaths – reflect the day on which the death was reported, not the actual date of death, which is usually days, sometimes weeks, before it appears in the figures.""

So how are we supposed to model anything or make judgements on anything based on those numbers if they're not accurate?!

Still think the numbers in intensive care are more helpful.

That is a real, actual, consistent indicator.

We haven’t been out the House, or had any visitors, for two weeks due to the Mrs having asthma. I’m thinking of taking each of our cars out for a wee drive this afternoon to help stop them seizing up.

Am I bad? 🤷🏼‍♂️

Your cars won’t seize up ffs.

If you want to get out the house cos you’re going stir crazy then say so. There is no justification in ignoring the advice being given.

I'll disagree. I think we need these brains (she didnt show any by going to Fife granted) to help us through this situation.

She'll be emptied when its under control. Fairly confident of that.

They don't need accurate numbers of deaths. They need to keep the NHS standing just long enough to hope for the supposed herd immunity to take effect. It's all window dressing.

If they get through April with only 20,000 deaths they'll be high-fiving themselves stupid.

She looks utterly ashamed.  But genuinely she has f-ed up big time.. I don't think she will survive this and probably should have stepped aside.

Get the impression Sturgeon is seething. Rightly.

She's in between a rock and a hard place. Sounds clear that the CMO is good at what she does but this is inexcusable.

Deaths in hospital

Indeed and thanks for clarifying. A small fall from yesterday but a big rise in positive tests. Hopefully the latter is down to increased testing. There must be some COVID deaths outside hospitals but no figures published for that.

The Calderwood story is shocking. She really ought to go now or after the crisis. She's destroyed her own credibility.

Does driving to another home really create much risk? Surely your chance of passing on/catching the virus are much, much greater going to the shops. Getting in your car at one property and getting out of your car at the other doesn't increase bring you into contact with anyone that you wouldn't have anyway.

That's an actual question as I appreciate I'm likely missing something.

Depends - if all the Londoners who own second homes in Cornwall and Devon decant there possibly increasing local village populations by 40-50%. All it takes is for a few people with this lax attitude to bring the virus with them...

This woman has made an error of judgement and on the face of it there is little risk but if everyone who could follow her example did so, it would not have zero effect...

I'd have thought she would've offered her resignation.

I can see the reasoning for not sacking, even if I don't agree with it. I'd be very disappointed if I was an NHS frontline worker.

Re the two visits I wonder if the press knew about both but only released once as part of a trap?

Not sticking up for her and I think she should go but its how these two faced feckers work.

NS did answer.

The CMO offered to do what is best for the government/nation.

NS believes her remaining in position is what’s best for the government/nation
