It was madness to allow it, one of the reasons the North of Italy was badly hit was 40k Atalanta fans from Bergamo going to the Champions league game at the San Siro apparently. Victorian
Anyone who has witnessed the Cheltenham Festival at the course and in the town centre will know how packed out it is. Then there was the UEFA farce, allowing the Liverpool v Atletico game to take place thus inviting people to travel from Madrid. It's the usual arrogance shown by those who have an interest in money and money only. UEFA are still threatening clubs that if leagues don't get finished, they'll forfeit European places. Before looking at the government for that particular issue I’d be looking at the organisers who flew in the face of what almost every other large event had decided to do that week, before it was compulsory, and I’d be looking at people who still attended without a second thought about the possible impact. Given that the situation is uncharted waters in a massive scale and the government have had to do most of this off the cuff, the time to judge would be at the end of this when we see how many died and what the impact on the economy was, comparing both in a global basis with similar developed countries. No doubt mistakes are being made and lessons being learned but criminal negligence ??

Mac_fae_Gillie
Several healthcare workers in India have been attacked as they battle to stop the spread of the coronavirus. Reports say doctors have been spat at and chased away from homes, and that in one case patients directed abusive and vulgar language towards female nurses. Some physicians and their families have also been ostracised by their neighbours because of their exposure to patients infected with Covid-19. India has reported more than 2,300 cases and at least 50 people have died. One video, which has gone viral, showed a mob throwing stones at two female doctors wearing personal protective equipment in the central city of Indore. The doctors had gone to a densely-populated area to check on a woman suspected of having Covid-19 when they came under attack. from BBC website. Would expect Indian numbers to skyrocket soon but if the public are scared of healthcare workers the numbers could be in the millions. BlackJAC?
Anyone who seriously thinks we're in lockdown and this will flatten in the next week or so, just needs to visit a shop today. It is heaving in some shops. It is heaving outside here in Musselburgh. It's just slightly less busier than it would have been before all of this. Joke measures. Exactly I'm afraid, Boris Johnson in one of the early pressers said that he was trusting that the British public would be sensible & grown-up about the advice which was being giving out, or words to that effect. How wrong was he to believe that much of the public would heed the warnings, indeed many still aren't, and if the weather is nice this week-end then I can see it being like Saturday night at the fair, so when a stricter lock-down comes into force next week it'll be the 'feck the rules' idiots to blame.
