Thought there would be a thread on that subject oddly enough. Weird case. Blatantly been killed, mind. The one pretext for the Iraq war which I found even remotely justifiable was that we were trying to create an ally in the Arab world so that we could finally stop being attached at the hip to the Saudis. I mean it was still a dumb reason to fight a war but being handcuffed to the Saudis wasn't good for us, and was part of the justification for the 11 Sep 2001 attacks. Part of Obama's failing in the region was that he didn't work harder to cut the ties (he was trying to by smoothing things over with Iran, however much the Republicans in the Senate blew their lids about it). Trump's desire to jump in feet first with them to the point of doing the glowy orb photo op is just another way he seems to find the worst possible direction to go and pick it.
