I'm taking zero sides on this, but I see a lot of reporting of how many Palestinians have "died".

You know, as opposed to have been "killed".

Both of these. And the ultimate responsibility lies with Trump, for his disgraceful decision on Jerusalem. I think his grotesque administration knew full well what it was doing - but when it comes to dead Palestinians, it just couldn't give a shit.

There has been demonstrations at the border fence for the last 7 weeks, so I'm not so sure how much the embassy change has had for the violence for all those weeks.

However the timing for the official opening of the embassy has imo been timed to inflame an already tense and explosive situation.

Of course the Palestinians were going to protest.

Trump's ludicrous decision flies in the face of international law and international diplomacy and was deliberately provocative.

Jerusalem is supposed to be shared between Israel and Palestine. Israel has been illegally occupying the Palestinian half for years.

80% of white evangelicals voted for Trump, and they are delighted with his decision to move the embassy.  That far outweighs any concerns about killed Palestinians.

Back when Trump was first elected I got into a conversation with a couple of friends over how many people Trump's election would kill.

I was thinking more about health care but it seems like moving an embassy will do the job as well.

Sky News interviewed some evangelicals from Texas who are over in Jerusalem right now and they are absolutely ******-a-hoop with all of this, as they claim it's fulfilling biblical prophecy and heralds the second coming of Christ and therefore the end of the world, and these numb-nuts are happy about that.

It's been a long time since my Bible studying days but, if my memory serves me correctly, having a great war in the Middle East (Armageddon) is necessary to bring about the Second Coming of Jesus.

Trump's action will likely be welcomed by his Evangelical base, as a step in the right direction of ridding the world of sinners.

Awful as it is the rate of killing is miniscule compared to the rate of killing under Bush and Blair. Whataboutery I hear but whatabouteey simply means some perspective.

On one report yesterday they said the Embassy is not really even in Jerusalem, there is a zone that was not dedicated to either, I believe in between the partitioned Jewish and Arab areas. That they stated is where the Embassy is located.

Bush and Blair certainly have caused problems, so did the Jews arriving from Europe in 1945 onwards.  The St Davids Hotel explosion, Anthony Eden with the Suez farce, the problems in that area are multiple, the Middle East as long as I have been able to listen or read has been a crisis followed by a tragedy followed by a war, sides have changed throughout and when not fighting Israel seem to find a reason to fight each other.  Of course the world really needed a man as described by one of the evangelicals this morning, he stated strong, decisive , powerful, I was quite excited I thought Trump must have been arrested, I let out my usual groan on hearing that he was the person being referred to and the wife immediately ran and locked up all the sharp instruments in the house.

Tomorrow will be awful. The Palestinians will bury their dead as tradition dictates and on the day of the Nakba. The fury from their side will be off the scale and stones will again be met with snipers bullets.

Palestinian dead:  55 and counting

Israeli dead: 0

Palestinian wounded: 2,000+

Israeli wounded: 0

Yet according to Trump's oily son-in-law, it's the Palestinians who are the problem.  And the Republican party are all standing and applauding.

I'm still trying to figure out why the Muslim world hates America.  Oh, I remember now, George Bush said that they hate America's values and freedoms.  Got it!!

From watching Channel 4 News last night the way she and Kushner opened the Embassy, the staging and the speeches, was almost like they were opening "Trump Jerusalem". It was bizarrely terrifying to watch the glee of them and the dignitaries as you watch in real time the death of the peace process.

Netanyahu and Trump will go down as the men who broke the Palestinian cause. I cannot see a way out from here on in. Gaza will receive tighter sanctions and settlement building will likely rocket in the Trump years leaving little left for a Palestinian state to be built from.

Listening to a guy at the fence yesterday, I disagree about Trump and Netanyahu breaking anything.

The way the guy was talking, they would need to kill everyone in order to end anything.

Genocide, if you will !

I don't think the spirit for it is gone. But the viability of it has. Palestine's borders are ragged and a broken by settlements and security walls.

You are being quite unfair to Ivanka, there was probably more money spent on those pearly teeth of hers than the total income of some small countries, it is only proper that she be allowed to smile and show them, the poor people will appreciate it. She must support her Jewish husband who has no axe to grind in this whole affair, after all he is an American.  After all its only a few Palestinians seeking a place to live who are being murdered, and  why would their loving wives and kids matter.

You know sometimes in life you wonder about things you do or have done, I guess the name of the feeling conscience, how can a whole family even those by marriage all been off line when a conscience was given out.  Again and I will say it every opportunity I have can a five time draft dodging coward lead his people into potential of war, and think nothing of it whilst his leeching family are prepared to support him only for their own opportunity for wealth and benefit.

God bless America, because if Trump keeps going no one else will, he will be a man cursed.

Look out Donald, Avenatti is digging up more dirt and connections,  he's coming to get you.

Just watched them discuss this on the news.  It was a Fake news station, but they were saying that Kim had in the past said that he had no problem with the military exercises he understood that they happen, and are necessary.  Of course Kim and North Korea are highly reliable in maintaining interest in talks, and peace proposals, the only problem is they seem to have a 100% record of not going through with any of them. They better not go scratching Trumps name on any awards for peace because it may spoil a statuette that will never be needed.  Of course Trump will say it was not his fault it was the fault of the people he sent to negotiate the summit.

Aye, I was listening to LBC in the car today. These (insert any word you like here) claim restoring the Jews to their homeland means Jesus will return. Then all Jews that wont convert to christianity will rot in hell before the rest of the non-believers burn!

Why are the Israeli jews allowing these (insert same word) to even speak at this event? Apparantly the ‘evangilists’ openened & closed proceedings.

Well, she kind of does have a point. Nobody else would have shown the same level of "restraint".

Nobody else would have indiscriminately sprayed thousands of rounds of live ammunition into a crowd of unarmed civilians.

Just out of interest has there been any independent corroboration of the fatalities and injuries or is the media relying only the Palestinians for accuracy of the information?

There is so much about Trump just now that it is difficult to say what is going to get him.

The McCain is dying joke has not gone yet.

The Trump Tower meeting is news again, as usual key persons cannot remember who called, who they called, who done what. They have worse memoreies than most seniors home residents.

There is something new about Cohen every day.

He  Trump attends a Memorial service for fallen police offiicers and uses it to make a political statement about immigration.

And of course Avenatti hasn't said anything for a couple of days, if it was me he was after I would be worried.

For a change of pace I went to Fox News last night and watched that cretin  Tucker Carlson interview a guy running for office. On his campaign posters he has written F... the NRA. Carlson was disgusted. The candidate a former policeman in a TV ad made the comment that the Las Vegas shooter was using a weapon that was capable of firing the same number of rounds as the commercial took which was 156 seconds. The way I took his statement was that if it was loaded with 156 rounds that was the length of time it would take to fire them.  Carlson lost it he said there is not a magazine that would hold that many rounds  the candidate tried to explain and Carlson took the attitude I have been subjected to, when he told the guy, you're an ex cop so you think you are a hard man well you know nothing your telling lies and insulting millions of members of the NRA, he again repeated the hard man insult as he continued, from the sanctity of his studio with security and the interviewee a couple of thousand miles away, it begs the question which of the two think they are a hard man. A rancid station with disgusting insulting commentators, they are not journalists they are propoganda announcers.

it was only just over a month ago they said they ‘understoood’ the exercises had to go ahead but hoped in the future that would change once things were more stable.

His threats weren’t exactly ‘threats’ either, he basically ridiculed the Libya weapons deal(agreeing with NK) and massively contradicted Bolton.
