Funny watching the buffoon attempt to sing God Bless America at his fake Eagles fan rally , still clearly doesn't know the words. Doesn't know words to Spangled Banner either.

Trump thinks Canada burned down the White House, he also thinks General Custer was an Indian chief, UK is a British colony, and the 30's Great Depression was all about mental health. Last time he opened a book it had pop-up pictures.

Are you ready for some Doug Ford shenanigans? How will you cope fighting this craziness on two fronts? ?

Man, it's hard to believe.  This clown Ford, the new Premier of Ontario, actually makes Trump seem like a Rhodes Scholar.

As for your question as to how I will cope, I have a one-word answer --- Glenmorangie.

It is reported that he is claiming that he has to leave the G7 meetings to prepare for the summit. Its only just the other day that he suggested that he was already prepared, there was nothing to do it was all to be based on attitude.

People are talking about Nobel prizes for peace this is two competing idiots that not too long ago were going to obliterate each others country with their nuclear power, they have no interest in world peace, they have both I am sure been advised that they should make nice before the destruction happens, not world peace, self preservation  And whether he meets and says  he will  or not Kim will not completely denuclearise. It is possible both Kim amd Trump are being told by Putin what to do, put on a show but achieve nothing. North Korea have a fairly long record of Summits, and equally long record of nothing having been achieved.

Craig Gordons Gloves

He’s said that Lebron and the Cavaliers or Steph Curry and the Warriors won’t be invited to the White House if they win the NBA, one imagines that this is because he knows neither team would go, or Steve Kerr might and then spend the time taking the piss. Also, some of the ‘fans’ at the fake eagles rally were supposedly RNC interns who’d received an email the day previously asking them to attend....

Not into b/ball but it will obviously be Curry and I'm sure he will be utterly gutted.

HTF did this ever happen?

Curry and James have already said neither team would go anyway. Quite the statement from the Donald, there!

Trump's main contribution to the G7 summit was to recommend that Russia be re-admitted to the group.  They were booted out after the invasion of Ukraine.

What a good little puppet he is.  :welldone:

Trump is a belligerent dick who gets what he wants by bullying others. The only way to treat him is to bully him back. I hope that the G7 treats the US very harshly as it’ll stop Trumps one and only tactic from working.

The US needs the RoW more than the RoW needs the US. Hopefully we can all come together and squeeze the US to show them that a trade war will not be won by them.

On the flip side, it is exactly because of his bullying that North Korea are coming to the table. Other leaders have been far more respectful and political in their treatment of the Kims. Trump has just ignored the plight of normal North Koreans in order to hurt their leader. And it has worked. And because he’s dealing with another bully, it’s the only thing that will work.

Tldr summary: trump is a bully. Credit for NK situation, but hope the G7 does to him what he has done to North Korea. Squeeze the US.

Outstanding.  It's hard to believe that the pouty-faced character in the high chair is the supposed "most powerful man in the world."

Pretty pathetic that Trump is bullying Trudeau via twitter so he can look tough pre Kim meet. Another low for Trump.

Utterly bizarre development that Trudeau and Canada appear to be in the crosshairs now. Struggling to even comprehended what he thinks that will achieve long-term. Saying that, Trudeau is an easy target for Trump's base - French-sounding, effeminate in their eyes, supposedly weak and inexperienced. He's really the opposite of an authoritarian strongman. Trump will have an instinctive and profound disdain for men like Trudeau. Be fascinating to see where this ends up. Canada needs US trade but many industries in middle American rely on Canadian trade also.

Trump's just angry and upset because Trudeau left a red thumb mark on the back of his hand when they shook hands at the start of the summit.

Donnie tries his arm pull thing, Justin crunches his bones.

Trudeau has been a disappointment as PM to many Canadians.  He got the leadership of the Liberal party mainly because of his name, and he won the general election mostly because voters were fed up with the right wing policies of the previous Tory government.  After he won the election, there were many people who felt he was too inexperienced and wishy-washy for the job.  It looks like those people were right.  Rather than provide strong leadership, more than anything else he seems to want to be liked by everyone.  Increasingly, he is becoming of a figure of ridicule and scorn in Canada.  He'll need to pull up his socks if he wants to be re-elected.

That said, trade between Canada and the USA is responsible for many millions of jobs in both countries, so politicians on both sides, especially among the states that border Canada, wish that Trump would just stfu. Whether or not a trade deficit exists depends on how it's calculated and whose data is used.  Regardless, it's a tiny percentage of the overall US trade deficit, where the biggest culprit is China.  And Trump seems to be bending over backwards to please the Chinese these days.  That might be because the Trump family is increasing its business dealings in China, but that's the cynic in me talking.

What - you mean like Canadians everywhere? Knocking him for that is like, I dunno, knocking a Scot for being dour and grumpy.

I'm not sure if any Western nation has ever managed to fall out with Canada before. It's like running over the next door neighbour's cat; it is just not done! But now that it's happened, Trudeau can act all big and manly, and put the patented bigger dick foreign policy into action. None of this is likely to do any harm at all.

The grown ups have well and truly abandoned ship.

Also, I know it's been said but it can't be stressed enough. This is the prime Minister of Canada he's talking about, a day after they tout Russia for readmission to the G7 and the same day he swans off to meet Kim. I know we're almost numb to it now but that is just staggering.

Its highly debatable he is trying to appeal to 'Canadians'. If so, he's doing a pretty shit job of it.

The 'peoplekind' nonsense, his farcical trip to India where he was snubbed by the Indian government and traveled the country for a week with his family in wedding attire(akin to a foreigner travelling Scotland looking like Rob Roy). To comparing ISIS returnees from Syria to Italian immigrants post WW2..

Hes a clown, that can't be ignored just because he's a Trump target.

I don't disagree with any of that.  And that's coming from a person who voted for Trudeau.

By all accounts, Trump got a rough going over by many world leaders at the G7 in Canada.  That's partly why he left early.  It was a bitter pill for an egomaniac to swallow, and I'm sure he was seething as he set off for Singapore.  Trudeau is an inexperienced eejit, so when he came out with his attempt at tough talk on Trump's tariffs, it gave Trump the perfect opportunity to lash back over his bruised ego.

Trudeau has now put Canada in an awkward position.  Trump, being the petulant bully that he is, will not forget Trudeau's "stab in the back", and he has the power to make things difficult for Canadian exporters.

I do think he's a lot more style than substance - but maybe that's just the reality of modern politics? He's still far and away the most favoured PM in the polls, which other than one outlier/rogue organisation, also generally have the Liberals just ahead. Not a bad place to be in overall.
