Great result for Hearts.

Rangers now have six Sunday games following Europa League games.

St Johnstone at home

Hearts at home

Hibs away

Hearts away

Motherwell at home

Accies at home

Good chance of lots of dropped points in there, and we get two direct shots at them.

There is the possibility of more dropped points yes but you would take being in the Europa league group stage every time.

Someone said Celtic lost money in the Europa League can’t see it but they are not as good as they think imo so might struggle on two fronts and SG’s win percentage must be shocking already.

Not sure how they will lose money.

Rangers will sell out 3 homes which will bring in £1m-£1.5m plus all the extra money from UEFA and TV.

Hopefully they struggle to cope with the fixture congestion though.

They wont lose money, 2.6m for getting there plus matchday tickets/revenue and any points gained can see a 4 to 7m turnover from the competition.

Anyone watching this Champions League draw?

Amazing moment, after picking up his award Ramos walks past Salah and taps his shoulder. Absolutely stone faced response from Salah who is sat in the seat immediately in front of him.......

:rofl::rofl::rofl:

Missed that but superb shithousery

I know they're not Scottish but **** me the Burnely fans have to be the most uncreative fans in the UK. They've blown through pretty much every one of "Generic UK Chants vol 1" in less than half an hour.

Cringeworthy.

You have now given more praise to Rangers than you have to Hearts in your 1,474 posts. Well played sir.......well played

What are you slavering about. Have a word. Credit gets given when it’s due and criticism when it’s due. Funnily enough you were missing from the last match thread when I had nothing but praise for the team.

In an Irish pub full of Tims watching the game. I thought Hibs fans were delusional/insufferable but this lot are on another level. They should be winning the Champions League don'tchaknow.

Not a great result for us. Huns now have a wad of cash for new players - Gerard confirmed signings were lined up but only if they went through.

Hearts fans being a bit thick here.

That's life. It's good for our league, the better they do the better for us as we have to play less qualifying rounds and it makes our league look respectable.

He’s also completely wrong in that there is absolutely no doubt the extra games, particularly for Rangers are to our advantage. Especially when you consider 2 of their games on Thursday's are before scheduled weekend fixtures against us. Like we saw with Celtic recently they will be forced to make changes and be tired, we should be in great shape and very fresh!

Two good groups there, only Rangers trip to Russia is a travel headache.

I said it at the start of the season, players should be having a look at that and want to make sure they are part of it next year.

When are the fixtures announced?

Rangers in Moscow on matchday 2 or matchday 5, please. We are scheduled to play them on the following Sundays.

Looking at the Sevco group, I wonder if they'll do what their predecessor did when they had  a very tough CL group and issue a season ticket for these matches.  That year Rangers never filled Ibrox as the  fans couldn't stand the humpings being handed out.  Celtic have a tough fight to get out of the group but the other arse cheek are going to take some serious beatings. Glorious.

I saw Wolves play Villareal in pre season and in the first half (both teams at full strength) Wolves barely got a look in.

No, you’re right. What really pleased me though was that I had £1 on them to win away at Cluj last night at 10/1. Did really well to knock Legia Warsaw out in previous round too.

Cracking teams in there. That’s a lot of games for the OF to embarrass Scotland during on and off the park though.

I’d love us to get back to the Europa League. It’s a much more open and interesting tournament than the CL. Instead of talking about the CL, Celtic with their reaources should really be targeting this tournament as one they could actually win instead of chasing the CL cash. It’s much more their level money-wise.

Rangers play at home in both games before they play us. That's unfortunate. They're at home before their match at Easter Road as well.

St Johnstone, Motherwell and Hamilton all at Ibrox are their 3 fixtures after their 3 European away matches.

That's worked out very well for them.

Yep, pity. Having said that there is a decent chance the game at Tynecastle will be off anyway. Only takes one of us to make the League Cup Final for that to be the case!

  • 3 weeks later...

Time to drag this thread, kicking and screaming, back into focus.

Never thought we'd see two teams in the group stage tbh, but here we are. Not a fan of groups in any competition as it lessens the spectacle and the home and away feel of a tie....but we're stuck with it !

Draw for the hooped demons, defeat for sevco !

Hopefully an absolute spanking for both bum cheeks today.   Hibs sized skelping.  Banged sideways with no lube.  Plus plenty of red cards.

it would appear that BBC Scotland is giving priority coverage to a game in Spain rather than to a game in Glasgow.

Jambo in Japan

Having either arse cheek in European competition aids our league campaign at least up until Christmas. Double the amount of weekly fixtures and attention on two tournaments instead of one..

Still hope they both get pumped.
