Scottish teams in Europe.(merged)

Don't mind Rangers going through. They don't have the squad to compete in Europe and the league at the same time. Nether do Celtic. More games will make hard for them.

Be a great result for Scottish Football's co-efficient, if Rangers hang on.

Plus - they now need to play Thurs/Sun for a wee while.

Negative - More money for them to spend and stay alive.

So that result effectively means that our games against Rangers on:

Saturday 6th October at Ibrox and *Saturday 1st December at Tynecastle will definitely be moved to the Sunday's regardless of TV.......

*This game will be moved to a midweek date if either of us are in the League Cup Final that weekend.

Someone said Celtic lost money in the Europa League can’t see it but they are not as good as they think imo so might struggle on two fronts and SG’s win percentage must be shocking already.

Got to give Rangers congratulations for getting to the group stage from round 1. There can’t be many teams that have managed that in the past.

I think they become only the 8th team to do so, although there is a few others that could manage it tonight?

You have now given more praise to Rangers than you have to Hearts in your 1,474 posts. Well played sir.......well played

Anyone watching this Champions League draw?

Amazing moment, after picking up his award Ramos walks past Salah and taps his shoulder. Absolutely stone faced response from Salah who is sat in the seat immediately in front of him.......

Great result for Hearts.

Rangers now have six Sunday games following Europa League games.

St Johnstone at home

Hearts at home

Hibs away

Hearts away

Motherwell at home

Accies at home

Good chance of lots of dropped points in there, and we get two direct shots at them.

The away game against us is on the League Cup Final weekend so that could be off anyway but totally agree about the likelihood of them dropping some points.

That's true. Possibly even more congestion for them.

Of course, we could be playing them in the cup final anyway... Then we'd probably get a swing at them at home the following midweek. The fixtures still work for us, Rangers will be stretched through the autumn and winter.

If Celtic get through tonight, their post-Europa fixtures on Sundays will be:

Killie away

St Johnstone away

Motherwell at home

Livingston away

St Johnstone at home (or possibly League Cup final, so this game rearranged again)

Hibs away

Both Old Firm sides are looking at tough autumns. Six extra games, lots of travel, possible League Cup games. Good news for us.

If one of us (or indeed both as you say) do make the League Cup Final the Rangers game wouldn't be the midweek after as we are already have a league game at St Johnstone nor the midweek after that as its match day 6 in Europe so it would either be the midweek before Christmas or not until the new year!

True. Just having a look now. Could be well into the new year.

In fairness septic are pretty used to this schedule. The cheats it’s a first time experience.

Not their first time, no. But they've already lost to us post-Europe this season and looked absolutely rubbish against Hamilton.

They have four away games out of those six, one of them at a place they lost last year and one of them away at Hibs.

It's certainly not what they'd have chosen.

Yep thats my thinking too! Would be absolutely ridiculous if it pans out this way but I can see us playing 3 consecutive midweeks at Tynecastle in the baltic conditions at the end of Jan / start of Feb!!!!  Dundee, Rangers and Livingston at home.
