Ah! The Store at Tollcross.

We used to go to a wee greasy spoon just up from there called the Quick 'n' Plenty.

The Princes Street Lunchtime Library. Crowds of us reading and not buying. Little wonder they gave up and went into logistics.

You'll remember the two women who worked in there who cooked the breakfasts?

The big blonde one called Christine and a wee wifey with red hair?

Sadly, Christine died from cancer about six years ago.

It was good for looking at erm... picture books as well, as they were on a shelf up the back of the shop!

Is that St Ignatius school at the bottom of Glen Street?  My Dad went to All Saints on the opposite side of the street.

when I worked for the Region in the 80's we had a lunchtime putting league playing down there

There was a hole at the end of the course where when it had been hot and dry you couldn't stop the ball near the hole

and it rolled back to your feet Plenty of eppies taken there

Is the putting green still there?

Also used to go putting in North Berwick and St Andrews
