If you start with the speedway track / greyhound track bottom left , the road heading up to the top of the picture will be Stenhouse Drive , first crossroads is Stenhouse Crescent  , the second is where the roundabout , Stenhouse cross is .

The long road running from bottom right to middle left on the picture is Gorgie road .

On the right edge of the picture is Saughton enclosure and Whitson above it .

The big road in the bottom centre of the picture is Chesser Ave .

Hope that helps a bit ? Thanks for posting , I can see my house in this picture 👍🏻

It was that Speedway track that was throwing me - never knew there was one there and I knew it wasn't Saughton Enclosure

A couple of paviors laying cobblestones by the looks of things.

My Granddad was a pavior as was his father & his father before him.

Mind my dad telling me that his dad rarely ever lifted his hands, but if you did get a skelp from him, you knew you'd been skelped, had hands as hard as the stones he laid, my dad said.  The best of it was, he was only a wee guy not much more than 5ft 5, thin as a rake but by god as strong as an ox.

I've worked away all my life and been around the world but is there a more unique and picturesque city anywhere in the world than Edinburgh ?

Lawnmarket (north side) with the Rabbie Burns Bar behind the fountain of water

had a mate who used to stay in a flat up one of those stairs

the building had a plaque on it saying Rabbie Burns lived there for a while

Number 38

It was the health food store that made me think it was. I think it's still there or nearby but may be completely unrelated to the shop in the picture.  I've just noticed the address on the shop above. Do'h!

The address is on the window

Think you might be right about the Health Food store still being on the street.
