I hope we don’t go for Adam. He’s looking past it and doesn’t fit the bill if our aim is to bring some dynamism and energy to the midfield.

Same goes for Hutton imho....

Hutton would be one of the best, if not the best rb in the league.

I'd personally avoid, another rb is not a priority, but he would be a good signing.

Surely we aren't going to go for Charlie Adam itll take more than a Levein Pre Season boot camp to get that fat tit fit.

McGregor I would take especially if Big Jon is away. If Ryan Gauld is one of them then that would be a hell of a signing even if its for a loan

My workmate was asking who the potential new players are. If you go with kickback it’s players of the quality of pele, messi, etc. When it comes to actually signing, it will be zippy and bungo!

I don't think any Scottish players could be classes as the quality of Pele, Messi etc.

I also don't think for a minute that we have made a zippy and bungo signing since Cathro.

Mods: if someone calls someone else out then the accused needs to be outed and binned...or the accuser needs binned.

Its tiresome.

Wouldn't be my choice but a decent left back nonetheless would solve the problem anyway if he can stay fit

Yes but I’m still hoping Mitchell will stay for one more year. Wallace would do a decent job.

Would be a good signing imo as long as he's clear of his injury issues.

Mitchell would also be good to have back.

Imagine having options at left back.

We've had options, just shite ones!

Be good to play a left back at left back for a season, we can but dream.

Will be surprised if we sign any new players from the cast of Rainbow, but I imagine Jock the Jambo is excited by the prospect of more folk in costumes arriving.

Them for the main course along with adao and Naismith signing, Mitchell on loan again, seasoned with Schalk and crawford, wee boaby and for the banter another "A - lister"!

those guys plus McGregor Gauld Adam Fraser would be immense if theclub could somehow manage it.

will need to find some money from behind the sofa though. ..

As Levein was DOF during the last pre-season, should he not be sacked for allowing such a shambolic situation to develop in the first place.

This is assuming there was actually fitness issues and this wasn't being used an excuse for failing results. This is quite a common tactic by new manager trying to get themselves breathing space.

Does that mean you think our captain is a liar also?

Same age age as Cowie was when he signed for us I think. Will depend how well he has looked after himself and his natural metabolism. Some players last and others don’t. I’m not convinced it’s the best idea personally though his distribution would be a plus point.

I have no idea what was going on.

I would  hope and expect that the DoF did.

He was backing his head coach and not interfering. I’m sure Cathro was telling him that his planned style of play required more focus on ball work for the players to adapt to that style.

Berra has said that other teams do pre seasons like Cathro’s so it wasn’t unique or unheard of.

Yep it was a disaster but what was Levein supposed to do? Cathro had new ideas than different coaches. Levein was backing him.

Seriously, optimistic about next season with some decent, planned signings and no rush jobs.

32 just isn’t that old for a good footballer these days, if as you say, they look after themselves. I suppose there is a bit of a question mark on Charlie because he was never exactly svelt, but he’s been playing at a very high level for years and must surely be fit enough to play up here still? He’s extremely good with the ball at his feet and he has a footballing brain that you would expect to help him not have to charge around like a dafty anyway.

Charlie Adam would be a tremendous signing, we haven't had someone who can pass the ball like him since Baggio. Given that he's still getting a game for Stoke in the English premier league then I'm pretty sure he'll be able to hack it in Scotland. Not fussed about Alan Hutton as we have a plethora of right backs but Lee Wallace would be a decent signing if he's over his injury problems. Even if we could get Mitchell back, which would be fantastic, then experience tells us that we need at least 2 left backs and Wallace can also play centre back in a 3 or a 4.

Obviously the 4 offers could include none of the above players

Don't think it will be McGregor until Jon tells us he's ****ing off for sure.

Hibs boy I reckon has gone to Aberdeen, McLean to move to rangers after that.

However, as it's all a bit hush, hush it could be three players in our division. That would make sense, a bit.

Whowever it Is, certain posters will moan like ****.  That is the only certainty

Cant see Schalk being a player we're interested in. I don't think he's good enough anyway

Dunno why but I have a feeling we might be trying to tempt Darren Fletcher to Tynie ?‍♂️

Whats his contract situation?

Fits Leveins looks after himself well, good influence for the youngsters at club.

It's funny. All these guys apparently 'hated' playing for Levein and couldn't get wins. Now they're happy to play for him, football is an interesting game . This is why the above wouldn't suprise me
