Once you get the hang of pouring (doesn't take long) it's well worth the investment . Tastes so much better than cans or bottles. Nice wee thing at parties for folk to pour their own beers. Enjoy 👍

I'll do my best. 👍

Can I ask where  you are buying your torps?

If you or @Pans Jambo come across any sales or good deals be sure to give me a shout and I'll do likewise, cheers. :)

Hi mate, I originally ordered via Heineken, but the supplier is now via https://www.beerwulf.com/en-gb?gclid=Cj0KCQjw4s7qBRCzARIsAImcAxbLzPjk7kHzqyV_7QSjsONA6SebkBjq6QWPp4q1bSoJHEW2haNoO7MaAsNYEALw_wcB

There are usually some discounts on the go 👍

Thanks, that's where I ordered mines from too. 👍

I'm still at sea for another week, but Mrs Tarkin says the Moretti is fantastic and she can't wait to try the Sol.

I only ordered 40 pints so I hope ther's some left by the time I get home!

Time to bump this thread, so here goes.

Sitting drinking this just now.

image.png.f41f023f752d8b22cb897ccd994cf3c1.png

Smoked Porter from Estonia, 5.4%.

Quite a strong smoked smell, but the taste whilst smoked isn't overwhelmingly strong, thus making it drinkable, not really into smoked beer, but this is ok, don't think I could drink more than one though.

Just had this from Wander Beyond, like yourself Jimbo, 1 is enough, especially with it being 11%, this one has spices, chilli and chocolate, it was nice but I don’t think I would buy it again

Drinking Porters at this time of the year is very appealing.

Yeah, I like this too.

A sour beer is nice for a wee change. Can’t have more than 1 or 2 before switching though.

Had a pint at the I&G pub in Lothian Road.

Drinking one of these right now.

image.jpeg.f302e52f4d4c5675ec2b23f35b378834.jpeg

Matured in Highland Park 12 yr old Single Malt casks and comes in at 8%.

Similar taste as Harviestoun Old Engine Oil Beer but with added whisky taste to it.

Pretty good I must say, but I'm biased as I like this type of beer.

I was given a couple of these a month ago - lovely stuff.

McEwans Headspace is excellent - try their Champion excellent too.

Sainsbury's Taste the Difference London Porter brewed by Shepherd Neame is very, very good too.

I was a bit sceptical at first, thinking it wouldn't be a patch on either Belgian or Dutch Trappist beers, but I was wrong, it's right up there with them, had it a few times now since I tried it for the first last year.

Had a bottle of McEwans Champion last night, it's on offer at my local co-op just now @£1.83 a bottle, it's been on offer since January, I've lost count of the number of them I've drank since then.

The Sainsbury's London Porter could very well be the same as Asda Whitechapel Porter brewed by Shepherd Neame as well, probably just the same beer but different labels.

When I can't get new beers I often go back over one's I've had years ago, the likes off Headspace, Champion, Broughton Old Jock, Inverlamond Lia Fail, Cairngorm Wildcat etc etc etc.

Always preferred the dark beers, before these beers became available/accessible, it was 80’ or heavy which I enjoyed,  but now there is so much more choice, quite like an ipa also 👍

A limited edition Vintage Ale from my local brewery at Traquair House Brewery.

Every year they are going to produce a special ale, this is the first one in the series a strong 8.5% vintage ale.

image.thumb.jpeg.bdc07fb245526c2cb8ec76237612dac0.jpeg

https://www.traquair.co.uk/product/traquair-vintage-ale-abv-8-5-per-case-uk-mainland-only/

Tells the story of this ale.

If you click on the Brewery link at the top of the page you'll be able to see the brewery with it's ancient oak tuns which are still in use today.

A brewery I've been in many times, including a special private tour of the brewery and the house, which my daughters organised a few years back for my birthday, including beer tasting, it was a good hour and a half private tour, including normally off limit areas, excellent.

Love the pint(dimple) glass. We got two cases of them in 1981, when I worked in  my dad's pals pub

Also met my long-term girlfriend at sandy bells bringing over from Doctors...  Best glass ever..... You could stick a nip on the top..
