Currently having a tiny rebel “cwtch” from my Beer52 starter pack. Very nice indeed. Not sure if I’ll be continuing the 30 a month thing long term but the beers are good to be fair.

Phone Beer52 up and threaten to cancel and they will offer you it for £19 a month.

Nice one. Might well do that. Really like the idea of it, just thought 30 was a bit steep. 19 is decent.

How many beers is the £30 offer?

Usually it's £24 which is standard and you get 8 beers, a wee magazine and a bag of nuts.

£19 though if you call up 👍 I've got a subscription with them.

You can also pause your subscription every other month so if you're away in holiday or whatever you don't need to pay (this can be done online).

I don’t know to be honest.

This is my favourite these days and a good session beer.

When it is fresh, it has a taste that just puts it ahead of the others.

Sell it on draught on match days at the Amex.

Normally the highlight of the game too!

Hadn't had one of these in ages, ice cold went down a treat sitting in the garden.

Working my way through one of these now.

Purple Moose Brewery - Madog's Ale

Really quite nice, quite malty with a caramel biscuit taste, quite nice.

Have had a few Jennings beers, all of which have been decent, but I've not had either of those two you mention, will have to keep an eye open for them. 👍

Tonights Christmas beer is Milestone Brewery Vixen, a 4.4% copper ale, lovely nice malty biscuitly flavour.

Milestone make a range of Christmas beers all named after Santa's Reindeer, and ranging in styles from Blonde, Golden, Amber, Red, Brown & a Porter.

I've just ordered a 12 bottle case directly from Broughton Brewery for £30 inc P&P, which works out at £2.50 a bottle, which I think is ok for 500ml bottles.

I ordered the '79 Selection as the only two in the photo I've had are 'Old Jock' & 6.2 IPA the rest are new beers to me.

Thanks for this. Just ordered the same thing for my dad for Father’s Day. It’s a decent deal on the big bottles.

Drinking this at the moment, nice beer, taste of chocolate and raspberries, it’s been aged in red wine barrels which adds additional flavour, 11.3 abv

Had this doppelbock beer the other week, can’t say I enjoyed it, strong malt flavour, not for me, first time I’ve had this type of beer, still have a couple left, which I will probably drink at some point or end up giving them away. Definitely prefer stouts and porters.

Not a great lover of Bock beer far less Doppelbock, only a handful that I've liked.

Maybe just try a bock next, it should not be as strong and intense flavour as the doppelbock.

As said it's not a beer style I'm that fond of, but I have had one or two drinkable ones.

Elgood's - Cambridge Dark IPA.

Very similar to a normal IPA flavour but with a slightly roasted aftertaste, due to the use of roasted barley.

I used beer52 for a trial, used code br52 to get 8beers for free and a snack for £4.95 last week. Code might still be valid if anyone is interested.

Still is. How did you get on with it?

They were all pretty good the box I got, I cancelled straight away but out of the 8 I couldn’t complain about any of them, two were really nice but I can’t remember what they were. I might sign up again unless anyone else could recommend other such sites.

Nice one, I'm going to give the free trial a go - will go for the 8 light I reckon.

Having a B.O.B. just now.

That's a Bitter Old Bustard from Barsham Brewery in Norfolk.

It's an 4.3% English Bitter, and very nice it is as well.

Z.E.E.P. from the Edinburgh Beer Factory, actually very nice.

image.jpeg.f0109f635aa2995a2815c7bf433e5ed9.jpeg

Finished that and have just started drinking this.

A strong Belgian beer 9.5%, another very nice flavoursome beer.

I've had quite a few beers from the Silly Brewery (9 now in total), when I was staying in Belgium doing a WWI battlefields tour the hotel we stayed at was only about 6km from the brewery, I had hoped to visit it but didn't have time, the hotel however stocked several of their beers, on draught and in bottles.

It would have been rude not to sample the local brew, and there were some which I couldn't quite make my mind up about, so had to have several of them, purely in the interests of research, you understand. 😂 :mj_zivili:

Few of these tonight. Another Edinburgh beer factory serving.

Not bad, light lager with a decent aftertaste. 5.2%

First up tonight was a Samuel Smith IPA, pretty bog standard IPA tbh.

image.thumb.jpeg.ceb0f87cdd862031082f8cf6d9c8441a.jpeg

However this is very nice, Abbaye des Rocs, a 9% Belgian Ale, lots of lovely flavour, very nice indeed.

Tesco now sell McEwan's Champion in cans - 4 pack only £6 odd 👍

Usually it's only in single bottles and picking up several at a time makes it tricky to carry.

Love that stuff.

At the moment it's my go to beer, typically have one or two bottles of Champion a night, unless I'm trying some of my new beers like tonight, but I'm trying to spin my new beers out just now.

It's really nice as well, lots of flavour, similar to a Belgian Abbey in taste but smooth for being 9%, just about to finish it off as I write, here goes................................................all gone, that's it for tonight.

I used to do a lot of work in Leuven, home of Stella Artois, and most of the local boy's I worked with would drink Tripel Karmeliet as their favourite.

It's a really nice, easy drink, but with an 8.4% kick.

Not read the whole thread so not sire if its been mentioned yet....but I have had one of these machines for about 2 years now, a poured pint from it is tremendous, great range of beers as well....the Belgian ones are excellent, Leffe Blonde etc on draught at home

bit dangerous s they are in 6 Litre kegs though....

Brewery's actually prefer to dispatch cans as you can fit more in a box.

Sainsburys is the only place that I have found it, if you are having a selection of beers drink this one first otherwise the subtle flavours will be lost. Will have a look for O. C. Crush
