Hughes is vastly experienced but he is not much of a talker, Souttar will benefit from having Berra next to him. Get him next to Souttar with Hughes on other side of Souttar and that's one hell of a back 3. Ipswich have released Berra and not taken up the extra year. Why would Paterson head the other way? Berra is coming up North for family reasons, why would you be amazed? He grew up a Celtic fan and isn't good enough there so coming back to the club he came through the ranks to captain seems the 100% logical move. Couldn't care less what team he supported/supports, he know what is required when he pulls on a maroon jersey. If the only hold up is haggling over 2 or 3 years there is no logical reason for not given a player of proven quality the security he wants. If you look at old threads I said this was a possibility in the summer and was quite excited about the prospect though I shot down by a Jambo that was presumably born in 1961.
