Bringing in a slew of laws to stop 'an eccentric weirdo' (and everyone else who is not an eccentric weirdo) from peacefully protesting is straight up fascism.

Next on their list of fascist moves? Your human rights under the ECHR

France is party to the ECHR but they beat protestors and spray them with water cannons. Go figure.

The hyperbole about it being the end of democracy and evidence of a fascist state though is nonsense, if we actually lived in a fascist state he'd have been carted off/beaten up/disappeared long before now.

Aye? The first day that the police and crime bill came into effect and boom he's lifted and his gear is confiscated.

The very first day.

I must have missed the French abandoning the ECHR? When did they do that?

For some the erosion of rights and democratic opposition is not a thing.  Until such time that something they do give a shite about is eroded.  Then you'll hear them.

If you're not standing up for the rights of people you tend to disagree with then you're complicit and part of the problem.

I didn't say that.

France follows the ECHR and suppresses protest as do many other countries.

Right, so France does follow the ECHR?

However your guys in Westminster are scrapping it because it's preventing them from implementing policies which would otherwise contravene the ECHR.

Why do you think they're determined to scrap ECHR to implement their own 'British Bill of Rights'?

It's the journey of the Junta towards autocracy & fascism.

Rules prevent you from doing something which is questionable at best or highly illegal at worst? Change them.

Scrutiny? Scrap it.

It's a well trodden path that we've seen many times in history.

So Family guy is about your level of understanding of the EUs bill of human rights.

You seen quite thick in understanding the basic concepts of WHY those rights were drawn up and what rights they contain .

This Eton junta are stealthy and sneakily coming for all our rights, in fact any rights that hinder their future draconian "bill of rights".

Pay more attention to what the current human bill of rights contain. Look closer to home and the Junta in power that you go out of your way to defend, very strange character

Tories breach international law and WTO rules by imposing illegal tariffs on foreign steel.

Are those the same WTO rules that meant we "held all the cards" for Brexit?

Didn't quite work out that way did it.

Those party donations need to be facilitated somehow.  I dare say there will be a bit of insider trading going on as well.

Surely the donors haven't spaffed the money they got from the PPE feeding frenzy already?

It’s really not funny anymore.
Johnson just does what he wants.
What a bizarre state of affairs.

England will vote vote him back in too I reckon.

What was better was her statement after PMQ's about the opera. I just wish that she had been able to use it as a put down during PMQs.

NEW: Rayner responds to Raab's jibe at her for going to the opera

"My advice to the deputy prime minister is to cut out the snobbery & brush up on his opera. The Marriage of Figaro is the story of a working-class woman who gets the better of a privileged but dim-witted villain."

She ends with: "Judging by his own performance today, Dominic Raab could learn a lesson about opening up the arts to everyone, whatever their background.”

Just how much more can this p**k (literally) do to defile the office of Prime Minister? And still, people comment on this thread to defend this POS.

Got to remember this was when he was foreign secretary. These people all knew what he was like and his behaviour and they put him in charge.
Mind blowing.

That’s two very unfortunate surnames for the current situation they find themselves in.
