Other kiosks still not open yet.

Toilet queue didn't seem so bad today, maybe because less in attendance or because folk know where the other male toilets are now?

Really wish they'd paint the front of the media tables maroon.

Not sure f they can be painted over, but you would think something could be attached, even painted plywood, even as a temporary measure.

The good thing is there isn't really any rush now to complete the internal fit out.

I'm surprised they haven't prioritised the club shop next as it's location should really contribute to an increase in sales on match day.

Having said that they

may as well take their time and get it right first time.

I wonder if there is a deadline for the nursery bit to be finnished and handed over to the council.

It’ll take time to make the inside beautiful. No need to rush. I’m like a few others I would like the media table to be maroon.

I think there'll be more maroon in due course including the gable ends (replacing the red)

Part of it says " One thing though. My goodness, behind and beneath what you see of this new stand from the pitch, what an utter bomb site it remains. The front of the new stand looks stylish and the view from the field is wonderful. But inside? There is debris, buckets, building implements, paint brushes and slabs of cement everywhere.

Sorry, just seen this Spiers stuff... has he ever seen a bomb site?

What sort of bomb site has "buckets, building implements, paint brushes and slabs of cement everywhere"?  If it weren't for the fact that he's a top journalist, I'd say it's almost as if he's confused bomb site with building site.

Weren't the 2nd floor hospitality areas meant to be complete by now? Maybe wrong but I thought the plan was by mid- to late-January.

It will be a great achievement when complete but it can't be denied the project has not exactly gone smoothly or to plan. But  I don't see why it as issue for Spiers. I am sure even in its incomplete state the stand including media facilities) is better than most he has to visit in his job.

I sort of want the things in view inside the stadium to be fixed like replacing the seats in the Roseburn. Plus all those scummy marks on top of the stands. It’s just little details like that I would notice. We have a great little stadium with these little improvements it’ll be envied by the majority.

It's not as cold if you sit higher up.

Noticed yesterday some glossy maroon wood has been added to the lower half of the internal walls in the main stand.

Anyone know any news about the large mural thats to be painted onto the gable end overlooking the Foundation Plaza? When is it meant to be started? Be interested to hear about any design concepts/ideas.

not sure..... you'd get into the stand through the walkway that seperated the upper and lower sections..... well, can't remember seeing an actual door there.

The architect being held up as knowing better than the people who questioned some of the decisions on here has certainly gone full circle from a few hundred pages ago! Now he's persona non grata it seems.

Still not been in the new stand. Looks tremendous and look forward to giving it a whirl soon

I remember on another thread somebody pointed out that J Clydesdale was in fact a moron. Couldn't work out that there was a massive school over the road blocking the view of the Castle.  Designs hundreds of restricted view seats, useless toilets and an executive box that isn't a box and doesn't have a separate entrance to the ordinary fans thus causing a needless obstruction on the concourse.    I also remember how a number of persons rushed to the  defence of said architectural cretin.  Not looking so bright now are you?

It might make him incompetent but  he's not a moron or a cretin. I don't know him from Adam, btw.

I'm actually agreeing with you. I know people (including yourself) said that and it was often rebuffed by others with things like 'well, what do you know?' And 'I think an experienced architect knows more than people on here'.

Anyway it's a cracking stand and some of the flaws are hopefully being rectified.

Any idea how long it'll take the concrete dust to disappear from the lower tier?

Feet always get covered in it, seats usually got some dust on them every game too

Hi Peter - I thought we might hear from you at some stage. You were already having a 'feeding' frenzy on all sorts of issues (real and imagined) from the start of this construction.  The project had many on going issues to overcome, and frankly if you knew all the hard facts guys like you would have gone into total meltdown!!

So the guys actually building the stand gave it the old swan treatment - gliding along the surface, but paddling like **** under the water to keep going.

Anyway you bash on - the stand is built, the fit-out will be complete soon, and that's what matters to me.

Thomaso I've noticed a fair amount of rust bubbling under the paint on the metal work in the new stand. Barriers and the metal supports on the aisles to help punters getting up and down the steps. Should we be concerned?

Whilst not directly involved in any of this metalwork, obviously rust bubbling at this stage will be a bit of a concern. Saying that it is all within the Defects Liability period, so if this is a problem then the subcontractor who manufactured/installed this metalwork will need to rectify it at their cost.

Thomaso, would it not be prudent to have a defects list that fans could add to.  There are one or two things, whilst minor, that I have come across in my time in the new stand. With the best will in the world sometimes those closest to any project can't see the minor defects.

Defects will be picked up by the new Architects on an on-going basis, and in around a year there will be a 'Final Defects' full inspection.

In the meantime if you have any concerns on any defects (particularly any that give rise to H&S issues) I suggest you forward an email to the Club, who will forward to the PM for his attention/action.

I’m trying to work out the concerns but there are no explicit comments. Therefore this is my ‘read’ on matters;

the new stand is fantastic, the facility behind it (with lounges etc.) will also be fantastic BUT at present they are not compatible ie they are not properly connected.  Both designed in isolation with no thought to synergy?

Its a phenomenal achievement to put something like that in place. Was the timetable too ambitious? Maybe. Will it cost more money to fix than if we’d been more conservative? Well hindsight is a wonderful thing. So what anyway. We’ll fix the problems. It’s not like we’re taking dodgy payday loans to  survive like some other club I could mention.

You should ignore Peter. He’s an arsehole.

Absolutely it was ambitious to have the whole stand from old to new knocked down and replaced in the matter of what 4/5 month? However it was the club that stated these timescales so went with it, I always thought it was unrealistic, even now it seems such a big achievement to have it opened by early November, it’s no wonder it’s taking longer to do the interior, it’s better getting it all done and looking lovley than rushing the job so Mr Spiers and his cronies can write nice columns, can u imagine (glorious hearts build the most magnificent stand Scottish football has ever seen)

his spewing face without the bomb site stories, erm building site speirsy ya dick, hiya pal ??

Thanks as always Thomaso, I also thought it was concerning that rust was already appearing at the back of row 10, section S. I took this snap at the Hibs cup game but didn't post as hate being called a pantwetter
