Thomaso
Fantastic news. Are you allowed to release any critical path dates for work that needs to be done to allow a 'functioning' stand to be ready in time for the planned first home game of next season? Demolish existing stand - by end of July Install steelwork/decking/seats - end of Aug Handover of new stand/first game - start of Sept. Team changing facilities - end of Nov Final completion of all areas - end of Jan

Dont know if I like that, the picture makes the glass front look very old fashioned and not a big clear open glass. I hope its just the way the picture is. Thomaso
Guys - suggest you judge the new facade when it is complete and not from a crumpled up artists impression
The Natural Order
Thomaso, is that pic the current plan for the facade or is it an earlier design option? I liked the version where the glass extended past the line of the building (if I'm making any sense).
Shanks said no
First reaction to the pub picture was that it reminded me of the Scottish Government office on Regents Road
Toggie88
I hope the pub pic was just an early concept idea. Looks very 1950/60s office block-ish - don't think it would age well.
pablo
I hope it looks better than that artist's impression. Which looks a bit civic building, West of Scotland, 1970s.

I think it's intentional that it looks like that, so planners can see the levels etc inside (the caption for it does mention elevation...) Bad Religion
I think it's intentional that it looks like that, so planners can see the levels etc inside (the caption for it does mention elevation...) An elevation is a type of drawing or in this case the proposed view from the front. Nothing to do with levels. Hopefully it's an old elevation. Nobreath
Guys - suggest you judge the new facade when it is complete and not from a crumpled up artists impression Thank goodness for that as the artist impression is a bit of a shocker after our expectation levels have been raised so high. Cardiac Rucksack
That is the final design that has been selected though. 100%. Thomaso is relying on it "looking better" in real life. It's like St James Centre and will age a lot. Pretty pissed off that the artists impressions us who donate to FOH agreed we'd be happy to defer money on have been changed for the final design. on&up2017
Guys - suggest you judge the new facade when it is complete and not from a crumpled up artists impression This. Just read the text to the bottom left of the front elevation, 'proposed'! http://www.hmfckickback.co.uk/index.php?app=core&module=attach§ion=attach&attach_rel_module=post&attach_id=10996 I deliver draft design proposals to clients, there are always MANY amendments to be made along the way...
kila
Purely speculation, but if the crumbled 'proposed' snap is considered newer than the illustrations in the planning documents, then facade no longer extends past the sides, but instead, the sides have windows so letting more light in: The glass will probably still look dark from the outside, so the white and lines won't be visible:

JohnB
Why are you so sure its the final design? No curved facade? No roof terrace? The lack of a curved facade is what jumped out and bit me! Surely we haven't lost that feature because it was that that made it truly distinctive.
