4 more signings?

Just returning from work and spotted big bad Bouzid strolling along Great Western Road in Glasgow. Looking rather dapper it must be said.

I presume he's signing/has signed for a west coast team?

He is on trial with Rangers along with Zaliukas.

WIthout intending to start an argument, I don't really rate Wilson as a central defender. I would much rather see him play on the left. So i rekon we really have to strengthen that position. I read in the paper that Ozturk is just back from an operation on his leg aswell... So he's not a sure in for player of the season!! What happens if Mchattie gets injured aswell? We will be back to square one throwing young boys at the problem.

David Obua was classed as a dead ball specialist when he first signed.

Skied a few free kicks over the bar and missed a pen against Ayr in the cup.

He gets stick for that, but it was Csaba who said that, not Obua himself.

I can't remember who missed them against Ayr, but one of Obua's first games was against Airdrie in the LC.

We got a few free kicks, he skied the lot and missed a penalty in the shoot out.

No. Obua said it himself. I remember reading it.

It was against Airdrie and not Ayr that he missed the free-kicks and penalty.

He did miss against Airdrie. I was sure, though, it was Csaba that said he was a set piece expert.

Without condemning Jack Hamilton to is its obvious that we need another goalkeeper. Alexander looked comfortable tonight but I think Hamilton needs more time to develop and gain confidence. Is this one of the 4 that we are considering adding to the squad?

Has to be.

He didn't look ready at all.

I hope that we have someone in mind. I can't think of one of the top of my head and the usual suspects have been signed already.

i agree we need 1 more keeper, but i don't really think jack was all that bad tbh,

1st goal was a defensive shambles and the ball ended up being deflected over him,

2nd goal was a penalty, again not his fault.

he made 1 really good save, and got down well and held another a low shot

the only thing i saw that he really needed to work at was his kicking,

I think we need one of every position: goalkeeper, defender, midfielder and forward

We can field a good first team but we're in trouble if we get a couple of injuries/suspensions.

It's not at a critical stage, unlike a certain team in green, so we can take our time to get the right players if need be.

From signings so far it looks as if the management are casting the net far and wide (certainly wider than people on here who'se criteria seemed to stretch as far as ex players only). We just have to be patient and see what develops. I've a feeling we'll have some more new faces in, give it time.

I agree we need another keeper but I thought Hamilton done well last night. Made a good save nothing he could have done about the goals. He had a couple poor kicks early on after coming on but settled and done well.

For some people, the criteria is being called Rudi Skacel.

I think we will be kept waiting til the end of next week for possible new signings - just before the release of phase 2 STs. An exciting new signing and another 1000 STs will be grabbed!!!

I'd be surprised if we hear much before they're back from Chester. Is it Monday night the next game? Maybe have a couple guys lined up to join up with the rest of the squad when they come back.

Saturday night, isn't it? I reckon you're right, although we may here either way about Currie when they get back.

We've got Bucharest on Sunday then back up the road to play Hamilton on Wednesday.

Ideally we'd want two players for every position. Just now we've got:

Goalie: Alexander, Hamilton

CB: Wilson, Ozturk, Mackay, McGhee, Gordon (?)

LB: McHattie, Wilson, Henderson

RB: Paterson, L Smith, McGhee, Mackay

MID: Gomis, Robinson, Holt, Beith, Smith/Walker (AM), Paterson

WINGERS: King, Walker, Nicolson, Smith, El Hassnaoui

FORWARDS: Keatings, El Hassnaoui, Carrick, Oliver, Smith, Paterson

It's not a bad squad but three more experienced players - goalie, midfielder and centre back - are needed IMO.

Obviously it was only a friendly last night, and there were a lot of positives, but I couldnt help but feel that we do probably need another 4 signings to have the squad we need for this season

I don't think there's much doubt that there will be 2 or 3 more signings. They don't all have to come at once or in a steady stream. It's not too much to ask for the management to have a pause and assess which areas are the most vital to improve. Training sessions and games will contribute towards their thoughts.

I would be surprised if CL didn't spent a good part of last season assessing the squad, he'll know exactly where the squad needs strengthening and have 3 or 4 new players lined up

Not just the last few days, every day the players are in for double sessions under Robbie and will continue to be

First choice keeper and another centre defender is a minimum

No way will we sign another CB unless Wilson is sold. Already have McGhee and McKay as cover.

I'm actually more curious about the backroom staff he is looking to recruit, thought we had got everyone we needed (just surprised they haven't announced Jack Ross from the club.)

If Jack Ross is on-board, what other positions need filling JiG? I've lost track on the backroom positions lately... mainly on purpose, out of the pure novelty of being allowed to build a squad again.

The BBC seem to say he is under 20 coach, it seems already arranged who the new head of academy is so I dont know who is left.

Think Robbie's already said he'd like someone who can cover left and/or right back, if he can find someone who can do it.

Alexander has been signed as a second choice keeper. Interesting to see who they bring in as our new number one
