Polls are shut folks. What's the thinking?

I am Boom, as long as I can anyway! No idea, the exit polls weren't bad last time so I'm thinking with more advances in technology and voter profiling etc they won't be far away!

I might stay up.

Thoughts?

SNP overall victory - can't see past it.

'No' to AV - mega high number of spoiled papers.

Not sure if SNP will win Dunfermline West. Labour & Lib Dems haven't been great over the years so maybe it's time for a change.

I'd really like to stay up but I've had a pig of a week at work so far and the eyelids are already drooping. I'll probably give it a go and wake up shivering at about 3am on the sofa. First results probably not until the wee small hours.

Radio Scotland reporting a poll for the Scottish editions of the Daily Mail (a late campaign poll not exit poll) which has the SNP over 50% in both constituency and list votes.

Can't see that coming through in the election poll though.

In kickback clich? terms:

SNP will walk through it

Lib Dems will have a 'mare

Tories - wage thieves get rid

Labour will flatter to deceive

SSP - never a political party

Greens - drifted in and out

i'll watch for a bit of a politico gum-bump but nothing will be known until tomorrow. the result is almost a foregone conclusion anyway.

What about the liberal party?

This lad is standing for the list here.

Shit, just realised that's a scotsgay profile. I just googled his name. No biggie. I don't discriminate.

Mad policies though.

Gotta be in work early tomorrow, but i'd imagine i'll stick around for a few hours. Election nights are great fun; from the horrendous grpahics, the dreadful patter about nothing early on, the extrapolating of early results to the rest of the country, the waiting round for something, anything to happen and then the frantic running around when something does.

I would have if it meant I wasn't staying up for over 3 hours before they announce that labour have held onto two seats. <_<

Daily Mail poll -

For the costituency vote it suggests SNP - 51%; Labour - 26%; Conservative - 12%; Others - 7%; Liberal Democrat - 4%.

For the regional vote list it suggests SNP - 53%; Labour 22%; Conservative 12%; Green 5%; Others - 5%; Liberal Democrats - 3%.

Voting intentions were not declared by about 46% of interviewees.

that poll share for the lib dems can't be right, can it?

Might well be. Many of their votes at the last general were from traditional Labour voters who will be raging that they've got into bed with THEM. Still seems a tad on the low side, even for all that.

it takes the biscuit for them to be being trounced (relatively) by the tories in scotland. if that happens and repeats in the other polls then clegg has some heat to face from his party.

She's making me cringe every time she opens her gob.

Seriously embarrassing chat.

Her points of view are so contrived and so badly thought out that she's just annoying everyone.

Aye, she's a total gobshite. Classic case of someone thinking that they must take the most liberal stance on all issues without actually thinking them through.

My thoughts exactly, she didn't even seem to be aware that the two countries would not accept his body and she got away with it as well.

LP - exactly, she's just jumping into the most ridiculous liberal stand point on any given question and defending it like her life depended on it. Her logic and ideas are just absurd. She's a clown.

Templeton - That remark was just astounding. Even the tory boy with the comedy bowl cut was laughing at her in disbelief. A quite staggeringly stupid thing to suggest.

2na - I felt embarrassed for the guy. Someone should have said "do yourself a favour mate and please stop talking".

Ashdown having a shocker.

How many times did he lose the plot and go a bit mental in that hour?

It seemed to be just about every time he opened his mouth after the 1st question.

He's a relic of the 70's and 80's. Time has moved on and passed him by.
