Are these reviews based on the opening 10 minutes or just the trailers?

They are based on the film

If you liked Nobody then Violent Night will be to your taste. I enjoyed both. Lots of violence with a few laughs thrown in. VN will be on my watch list each Christmas.

Looking forward to it now, tomorrow night I think👍

The French Dispatch

Have a big TV give this one a shot

10/10

One of the best movies I've seen in a while.  Also just watched The Bullet Train, which I also enjoyed .. kinda Guy Ritchie type meets Kill Bill feel to it.

Road To Perdition

My favourite film

It is a stone cold classical IMO

Up there with The Godfather

The Paul Newman in the rain scene is just cinematic genius

Elvis

It's a total mess.

5/10

In what way?

I wasn’t sure about it before I watched it, but was pleasantly surprised, thought it was decent. The whole thing was put together really well imo. The only knock on it for me would be Tom Hanks performance, which is a shock, as he is normally top notch in any role he plays.

Just the start really odd. Tom Hanks performance is a charicature performance could have just got a foreign actor and I would have. But to be fair he is not terrible in it in some scenes you do get the old Tom Hanks magic

Top Gun Maverick

Like the old Top Gun this movie is a thrill ride

10/10

Was really looking forward to watching this at the cinema, but really wasn’t expecting it to be that good. Thought it was brilliant. Nice little bits of nostalgic moments thrown in which were really well done. Great movie.

Rudi, that's some serious Roger & Ebert film watching, you must have a few laptops set up and watching them all simultaneously!

Cannot understand the love in for that Maverick movie. Probably the worst film I watched this year.

i've just watched it and felt it was average and just another modern tom cruise film there to showcase tom cruise.

Bang average for me, a bit cheesey and predictable.

Just watched Grease, not seen it since I was at school but it's a giggle.

William H. Bonney

Black Christmas 3/5

Margot kidder is decent in this and the language is surprisingly vulgar for a 70s film.

£0.99 to rent on prime.

I saw a remake at the cinema last year or the year before. Truly awful. Not seen the original (though I think there was another remake at some point too)

Watching Rocky. Still great.

 I had no idea, all this time, his name was Robert 'Rocky' Balboa. 🤣

Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery on Netflix. I enjoyed it, but it wasn't as good as the first film, and the ending here was quite disappointing.

Avatar The Way of Water

I quite enjoyed the immersion of the first movie but I kept nodding off in a roasting hot cinema watching this for 3 hours.

What I did see was rote with some of the worst dialogue and scripting I’ve endured in a long time. It made the MCU seem edgy. I swear half of this film is the exact same film as the first one, just very slightly changed and another quarter just nicked from the Abyss & Aliens.

Quite terrible, albeit I wasn’t feeling good at all which will have coloured my experience. Empire gave it 5 stars, so I’m well at odds with that review.

Agreed. Quite a lazy ending.

Wiki . I seen the poster if Ricky Marciano and then Rocky looking at his young self. I thought I'd look up Sly to see what age he was during Rocky and ended up reading Robert 'Rocky' Balboa. And here's more trivia.
