Boof
The way AR has been doing the multiple-round scoresheets seems to have worked. Just incorporate the handicap into the spreadsheet and Bob's yer uncle. If we went for a single-round, cheap entry, winner takes all and transfers it to handicap winner event at least that would let us know relatively quickly if it works. ArmiyaRomanova
Is this the sort of thing......? Your handicap in any tournament is based on your WGT Average Score at the start of a tournament (first column) Second column is the strokes you'd benefit from in that tournament. 65 7 66 6 67 5 68 4 69 3 70 2 71 1 72 0 73 1 74 2 75 3 76 4 77 5 78 6 79 7 80 8 81 9 82 10 83 11 84 12 85 13 86 14 87 15 88 16 89 17 90 18 91 19 92 20 93 21 94 22 95 23 96 24 97 25 98 26 99 27 100+ 28 Seems simple enough to me, if a bit of a bother to adminster. Poseidon
As much as I'd love to win, my current ranking is still over 100 because I've not played much but I don't think I'd need a 28 handicap now. Might be others in the same boat?
Mark_Mywords
Would it not be better if the lowest handicap possible was 0 (scratch)? Real golf handicaps uses this method I think.

Mark_Mywords
ElephantStones and sosweb, you have 48 hours to register your playoff round - and the very best of luck to you both! Good luck ElephantStones. Are we both waiting on each other to play first to give each other something to beat? Not sure to play it safe and hopefully get a respectful score, or really go for it which could end up being a disaster.
jambopompey
think anyone with a below par score should just play off 0.
Bigsmak
Would it not be better if the lowest handicap possible was 0 (scratch)? Real golf handicaps uses this method I think. Real Golf goes to plus handicaps after 0 and if you are +1 you have one shot added at the end of the round. +2 = 2 shots ect! This also... I have only 2 credits so a 1 credit tourney as a test? Is $1 for 100 credits.. I use paypal.. I put in about 80p and that is 100 credits... so 10 credit comps are not bad. You can also fill in some surveys for 70 credits on the site. So do that if you really don't want to play. Personally - I've had a lot of hours fun (and frustration) from the game so i don't mind putting a couple of quid back into it! think anyone with a below par score should just play off 0. I am inclined to agree with this, or maybe a max of + 2 or something as you only had to shoot 1 silly round of 66 in the easiest of conditions to suddenly find yourself with a less than 70 average! ------- Also - can you swap money around between players? Is it even possible in the game?

ArmiyaRomanova
Kickback St Andrew Marathon - Tiebreak Round I see that the gauntlet has been laid down..... ElephantStones has overcome his pre-game jitters to lodge a very respectable 1 under par 35 for the 9 holes. Now it's sosweb's turn to feel the pressure..... ArmiyaRomanova
ST ANDREWS MARATHON Congratulations to ElephantStones for lifting the trophy by a single stroke following a tense tiebreak battle. The trophy was presented to ElephantStones by one of the original designers of the St Andrews Old Course, recently retired. And commiserations to sosweb, who walks away with second prize.... So top of the tourney on the back 9 I think! We've both shot 65 - wonder what makes you top the table...... A couple of times there's been a draw for first, and the player with the lowest average score or highest tier player seems to be given 1st slot by WGT. But not here. No sour grapes or anything from me, just curious as to how WGT's system makes the decision..... Think I got my 65 without any bogeys, which might be a factor..... Bigsmak
In actual golf if there is a tie e.g. both shoot a 72 then they say the one with the better back 9 would win. eg you shoot a 37 on the out and 35 on the back and I shoot 35 - 37 then you would win as you have the lower 'back 9'. If the back 9 is the same then its last 6, then last 3.. After that it get complicated!
Bigsmak
Pretty damn good Have you purchased new irons, driver etc? If so is it worth it? I have a better driver - makes a huge difference and a much better putter. I also buy the 10c balls... they are much better than the free ones. I would like the more expensive balls but, they are expensive.

I had a 7ft putt to go 8 under on the 18th - and missed the sucker.

ArmiyaRomanova
BETHPAGE RAGE A little something for the weekend - a 72-hour, single round, single play Tourney just to try out a potential handicapping system - on a course where most of us could do with a helping hand! I've kept a note of every player's WGT average score as of this afternoon, and the system will be as follows.... Anyone with an average score of 72.99 or under - no handicap advantage or disadvantage. Anyone on 73+ will be allowed a single stroke handicap, 74+ two strokes, 75+ three strokes - and so on up to those with an average of 92.00 and above, who will receive a maximum 20 stroke handicap. Let's see how this pans out... should open the field out a bit. Best of luck!
