Not that makes a flying shite of a difference to anything, but it seems slightly odd that an offensive player scores a TD on an offensive play yet gets no points for it.

The 3rd placed teams might actually be stronger than the 1st placed teams next year

I'd say the balance has shifted and you've actually got a lot of v.good teams now

So what's the thoughts on the odds for the league champion then?

I'd probably put Dizzle's Seahawks as favourite, then the Chargers & Nessies as second/third favourites.

The Bengals have still got to be in with a shout though. Interestingly, I've never lost to either the Thunder or the Falcons - what a time it would be to give it up! :)

I think Dizzle will win it.

Pity we won't hear about it! ::troll:::'>

Is he perma-banned?

Maybe he could communicate via the medium of shan trade offers....

I'm having a difficult time choosing a favourite to be honest, if a team gets hot at the right time they can win it all. That seems to have happened for the Falcons over the last few weeks.

One bad game and you're out so obviously those with a bye have a huge advantage.

Let's just hope for some tightly contested games and high scores. I'll cry if I outscore everyone I would have faced :(

Aye. I'll be sure to get him to send me his victory speech if he does win though.

That's me sorted the consolation bowl and I'll work on getting the season awards done later as well.

6 pretty fairly matched teams I think.

Falcons have been the surprise team this year. Completely proved me wrong after I predicted them to be last

I'm adding a vote to the league site regarding Kicker scoring. I realised earlier this year that it's not the way I had meant to set it up (yes it's taken me 3 years to notice) and I'm proposing changing it.

I'll need every league member to vote on this issue with a simple yes or no.

Currently we give 3 points for a field goal under 50 yards and 5 points for a field goal 50+ yards.

I'm proposing we move to a decimal system.

3 pts for any field goal up to 30 yards and then .1 points for every additional yard e.g. 37yarder = 3.7 points, 45 yarder = 4.5 points.

Thoughts?

Geoff - does this have that Conference idea built in? We were going to take a vote on that during the close season.

Donnie - if Geoff says aye to the above, how does this affect play-offs? As for the kickers, your idea sounds good - certainly need a bonus above 50 yards. Maybe just a straight 3-4-5 points system for 30-40-50 yards though.

I've not built any conference system in yet. My initial plan was 3 seasons of division v division, so our division would face FTH next season to complete the round robin. I'm happy to alter opponents accordingly if we vote that way. I personally would vote against it because in essence if we had two conferences we could end up having fixed opponents in 10 games out of 13 (Div x 2, Conf x 1) which to me seems a lot.

Donnie - probably worth running the vote for this after the playoffs finish.

Agreed its good to finish the round robin of the divisions. As for the conference idea, it would mean that your 3 'free' games were against the similarly placed teams for balance & we'd build up more divison/conference rivalries... we can vote on it tho.

So we'd be looking at two "conferences" of 8 teams each?

From that 8, 3 could make the playoffs. In terms of playoffs I'd say:

Week 14:

Best record from a division winner in conferences gets a bye (#1 seed in conference)

Other division winner plays "wildcard" on same criteria as before.

Week 15:

#1 Seed plays winner of matchup from week 14 to determine conference champion

Week 16:

Conference champions face off for League title.

TBH Not much would need changed.

I HATE the current point system for kickers, so would definitely be up for a change to a fairer system. The fact you can get an extra 2 points for a field goal just 1 yard longer than a 49 yard effort is daft. Prefer the decimal system suggested

Agree there are pros to it too. How do we determine the conferences though? Best and worst combined division records over 3 seasons in one, with 2nd and 3rd in the other?

Do we redo the conferences/divisions from the start or do people already feel an element of rivalry within them?

FWIW MFL now has a "Career Records" report that pulls the win % and Points for of the teams across league history.

We could just assign new conferences based upon that.

1 goes to a

2 to b

3 to a

etc.

Aye, exactly that - vote also probably needed on whether that means more fixed games between conference teams & affects tie-breaks. Obvs I'm a yes on those.

Kickers - I can see the merits of a decimal system as we do that for all other positions. Who's got Zeuerlein btw?

The decimal is what we use in my other leagues and it makes sense.

MFL handles it no problem so it's not like we'd need to work it out.

That could work. I'd jjst take them in the order they're currently in for simplicity. 1&2 v 3&4.

Special teams to be the defence you're playing or another roster spot? I'm probably being thick here - the latter sounds mental. If the former, I'd count TDs.

I just meant to make it Def and STs going forward.

Think a couple of times a season we get a query asking why a punt return td wasn't counted.

Griffin essentially fumbled it, Morgan caught it and ran in the touchdown.

Neither a pass or a handoff, but I thought it weird he didn't at get the points for the TD, if not any rushing or receiving yards.

Hm, think that's happened a couple of times this year (remember it happening to garcon as well at one point).

I'm not really sure why it isn't awarded to someone?

Looks like a loophole - we could potentially close that by awarding points for fumbles returned to individual players. Not sure if that would require IDPs as well tho...

Sounds sensible. If a TD is scored, someone (or the D/ST) should get the points.

Would definitely have to be the player. No way the D/ST should get it if an offensive player recovers a fumble and scores a TD. That's just as bad as the points not being awarded at all.

Maybe I wasn't being too clear. I didn't mean a D/ST should get points on a play they aren't taking part in. That would be ridiculous.

MFL is scoring is amazingly detailed if you need it to be.

There's an option to add "offensive fumble recovery TDs" which is what that was scored as, yes we can vote on that too.

Surprised myself winning the division, but not by doing well. Regarding the points for the kicker I prefer the decimal system. BTW that schedule looks brutal next year.
