Pretty much everyone had their hand in the pot apart from the poor essential workers who didn't get the furlough handouts and had to just soldier on. We get the government we deserve.

Admits to a 'mistake' in not cancelling the big sporting event gatherings (Cheltenham,  rugby,  football).

It's quite clear that the non-cancellation of these was quite deliberate as part of the early strategy.  He'll be laughing up his sleeve at getting to portray this as an innocent mistake.

Expressing  regret at  shaking hands with Covid patients  .... is that a polite way of actually blaming them for giving him Covid ?   Quite astonishing. Even by his standards.

It's painful listening to the soggiest of all squids attempting to stammer his way through this. How he earns a mint as a guest speaker is beyond me.

So Boris has admitted team was too male dominated.

But blamed Nicola Sturgeon for problems in communication. And any other issues down to the science being unclear. Crucially in January and February it wasn't seen as a big deal. Delays were due to worries about people getting tired of lockdowns and virus coming back stronger.

Overall the rest was fine including backing Matt Hancock, his WhatsApps, and people swearing at each other just shows commitment to getting things done. And of course at all times they did their best.

Where it was perhaps most unsatisfactory was saying he didn't get clear advice from September 2020 re locking down again which doesn't match what Vallance and Whity said.

You're no doubt right.  All that Scottish context power trip and political weaponising must have been the primary reason for all the effects seen in the other 91% of the UK.  👍

Like I've said before, it's a complete waste of time and money.

Nobody is going to face criminal charges.

It's merely a paper exercise

Everyone raving about the KC but imo he failed to nail Johnson on the deleted WhatsApp messages. They must be available somewhere and I’m sure someone has the missing phone number if not the phone. Nadine probably swallowed it along with other things I suspect.

Any decent PI or dodgy Editor would have retrieved them by now .

There are many things that many of these people would do but I suspect most of them would draw the line at plunging up Dorries's clunge to find a mobile phone.

Criminals and terrorists; take note!

Use WhatsApp for planning and plotting then "lose" the phone or delete the messages and the filth can never get evidence on you!

Genius!!

Unless.....government ministers are lying through their teeth and it is, in fact, very easy to recover "lost" WhatsApp messages......

It is indeed.  The exchanges are completely non-adversarial.  It's much less rigourous than it needs to be to get any truth.
