I'd seriously consider playing Sibbick in central midfield on Saturday. Look at his energy and athleticism in the last game at Easter Road. We need presence in there. Get some legs in the team; no Smith, Halliday or Snodgrass.

Zander

Atkinson   Rowles   Kingsley   Cochrane

Devlin  Sibbick  Grant

McKay

Shankland  Humphrys

I’m with you with the legs in the middle of the park

my granny would run past haring!!

I just hope whenever we do get a new manager their first signings are midfielders who can run box to box

to many seasons now we’ve had a static midfield

Like the look of that. Only omission is Gino but something has to give.

Can get width from the full backs with Sibbick dropping into a back 3 if needed.

Let’s get into these sister fisting inbreds and hump them off the park Shanks and Humps up front for me

Agreed. A hat-trick for Shankland, and a last-minute 55 yard wonder strike from Humphrys just to sicken them.

Meanwhile, I clearly have little better to do than while away the time in anticipation of a(nother) derby victory.

Simply substitute  'singing' for 'she is' and make up your own choruses. Perhaps the more lyrically astute JKBers can add to this:-

On the way down Easter Road:-

Singing D, It's the Derby
Singing I, Get Intae them
Singing S, Shankland hat-trick
Singing C, Cuff the Hi-Bees
And O, Oh, Oh ....

On the way back over the Bridge of Doom:-

Singing D, Delirious
Singing I, Incredible
Singing S, Sack for Wee Lee
Singing C, Cuffed the Hi-Bees
And O, Oh, Oh ....

Ottowan D.I.S.C.O.

Really looking forward to this now!

Naismith has been waiting for this opportunity and I'm convinced the team will pull together to get the win. Away to Hibs is probably the perfect first game for him. And I have more confidence in him than Robbie to push Rangers and Celtic in what will be meaningless games for them post split.

Looking forward to seeing who he picks and what formation.

I'd go for either:

                  Clark

Smith Sibbick Rowles Cochrane

       Devlin Grant Halliday

Ginnelly Shankland McKay

Or preferably a simple 442:

                  Clark

Smith Sibbick Rowles Cochrane

Ginnelly Devlin Halliday McKay

      Humphrys Shankland

Smith for me has to play because he is still better than Atkinson.

Love your 4-4-2 formation and team.

I’d play Atkinson instead of Smith though. He’s never had a proper chance and will have a point to prove.

No Idle Talk

We had no chance of winning this game if Robbie had stayed. We at least have a chance now. Hopefully we will get the new manager bounce but all the problems that have been in that dressing room won't just disappear overnight I suspect.

Could be a draw this one. By Friday I will be absolutely convinced we are going to beat them.

Wasn't at the match so had to listen to the radio coverage but they were saying on there he should never have got the second yellow coz he got the ball. Wonder if a potential appeal has been forgotten about given all that has followed. Then again, are we better off without him for a while? Plenty on here questioning him ...

It's only if the player accumulates yellow cards, game to game, and then reaches a suspension, that applies after the next game (after he is suspended)

A red card, whether straight, or 2 yellows is an immediate suspension

Long story short, he's out for Sat

We've had a static midfield because that's how they were coached to play, don't get beyond the striker, keep your position, don't take a chance. KIo, Devlin, Grant and even Haliday have the legs ok, that's not the problem, it was the coaching.

They will know to press us, just like they did last time, just like everyone does to us.

We need to move it quick and have more energy and intensity, I don't this can be achieved in a week.

Bazzas right boot

3rd place was surrendered,  our good home form has taken a hit hopefully our unbeaten run laid down by Bob v them continues.

Luckily I think they are the perfect team for us to play, not only because it's Hibs at ER but because they play football we are better at defending against,  they don't launch Cross after  cross into the box as they have smaller, tidier players.

That Youan is decent, we need to keep an eye on him.

I think we'll win, be a tight game tho.

Have seen Atkinson picked a few times, but would not want to see him up against Youan (there only real threat). Smith was poor at the weekend but should start.

Hm, tricky one.  Up and at'em the only real message eh.  Just posted on another thread.  Forget pretty football, forget control.  Get in about them first whistle.  Be smashmouth.  Run at them, get the ball forward quickly either down channels or in to Shanks or at the wingers feet and get that ball in the box.  Don't give them a second.  Hunt in packs.

They are low on confidence, we have something to prove.  They're at home and are soft as shite - pound them.

Stewart

Smith Sibbick Kye Cochrane

Devlin Haring

Grant

Gino Shanks Humps

I think.  Duno!  Could swap Humps or Gino for Baz and send him out with one mission - dribble.  Just dribble.  Is Pete ready?  If not, swap for Halliday.  Do we trust Hill?  If so, could put him CH and Toby to RB.  How is Kingsley and Cochrane looking in training?  Toss-up between these boys, I've gone Cochrane for pure energy.

Various folks have highlighted Youan as being a threat, but it's worth pointing out that Kukharevych is back from injury and took his goal v Dun U very well.

I disagree, I think the only one in that midfield who gets about the park is devlin
