Alex Cochrane plays the game with a solidity and confidence way beyond his years and relative inexperience at the top level. Defends well and competes against opponents with a greater physical stature.

He was booked early bit knuckled down and defended with ease. He has been outstanding

Don't fancy going to Istanbul needing to get a result, though...

Assuming we take care of these hammer throwers at home, the Fiorentina games effectively become a two-legged tie, winners qualify.

Istanbul will have qualified by then

If that mob drew away to Fiorentina. We can beat them at home.

I'm hoping the Fiorentina results mean they are not taking this tourney seriously.

Would have been easy for him to shirk responsibility but he showed real bravery to step out on a few occasions and get us up the pitch.

We had that shaky spell first half after he came on. But he really grew into it. He spread his wings and what a wing span he may prove to have

Some credit has to go to the manager for that, the right words were had at half time. And to the experienced and top quality Internationals Smith and Kingsley.

If I'm reading the fixture list right, they might very well not need a result by the time we go there. Of course then they might be going for a perfect group record.

It’s €360,000 I’m sure for a win not 500,000

no 500,000 euros

Group stage performance bonuses will be paid for each match: €500,000 per win and €166,000 per draw. Undistributed amounts (€166,000 per draw) will be pooled and redistributed among the clubs playing in the group stage in amounts proportionate to their number of wins.

section 1.3.2 there is also a redistribution of the spare 166,000 from each draw based on position/performance so maybe more than 500k for that win

In some ways going to Istanbul is the best ending as they may very be home and hosed by then.

We were very good folks.

Neilson and Cochrane are what, 19 and 21 respectively? That’s some solid business.

Ginelly had the one of his best games.

Cam was class as ever.

Craig had one of his Gandolph the Grey days.

McKay looks like he’s carving a ski slalom line through defences at times. With cigar, brandy and monocle.

I think Humphrys might come very good for us.

We wobbled a bit when Halks went off. Understandable. Hope he’s ok.

Bossed most of the rest of it.

Delighted.

All roads lead to Gorgie

A clean sheet is a huge boost to moral on top of a great result. Gino and Neilson should take that as the level to aspire to every week!

Neilson was very good. He is confident and composed.

McKay and Ginnelly created a lot. Work on the final pass.

Halliday, Cochrane, Kingsley got stuck in and just did enough defensively.

Devlin, Haring, Grant worked hard in midfield though that is still needing something.

Good for everyone at the club.

Spoiler

agree with all that. And Craig Gordon with some vital saves too when it mattered

Totally agree with both above, positive  tactics from Robbie also. Good finish from Forrest and great run, pass and composure from Cammy

Halliday superb. Where are the posters who were pishing their pants at his name in the line up ?

100% mate. Every team needs a Halliday. Gives it everything every single time. Great squad player to have.

It does also beg the question why he's played Sibbick, Atkinson (to cover smith moving to rcb) and an evidently not fit Halkett ahead of him prior to tonight (I assumed he must be dreadful)...but yes whatever Robbie said at half time did the trick so a big well done to him and all the management team!

Needs to keep his place now, could well be the making of him. He's proven tonight he's got the confidence and aptitude to seize that chance.

You know absolutely nothing about football…..nothing.

Talking mainly about tonight but .

No first touch!

Low conversion ratio!

Hits the ball straight at the goalie!

Penalties excepted.

Should have had another 6 goals this season but for weak finishing.

20 goals this season???  Only if he gets 16 penalties.

The Future's Maroon

Fantastic result after a bit of a shaky first half, special mentions to Gordon, Neilson, Halliday, Devlin…..in fact every single one of them, including the subs and the gaffer

And of course the fans….hope they have a great night

Cochrane, Halliday, Devlin and Ginnely were excellent tonight. Never stopped.

Neilson needs to replace Halkett, excellent game and will only get better the more he plays.

Great result tonight

Neilson deserves a run in the team. We can expect a few brain farts from him, but he can only get better & better with games. Hope Halkett is not rushed back. Finding an experienced free agent as cover for cb would be great for league games.

This. Some on here relish slagging off their own team. Even when we are winning. Enjoy the victory. Celebrate. "Post mortem" can wait

The key issue has been when we lose the ball in midfield and seems we are immediately under pressure.

Certainly was much less an issue second half.

That is a tremendous result away from home in Europe. Bring on Fiorentina. Nothing to fear and if we can get a favourable result in that one then who knows what we can do. Great stuff and enjoy the night everyone 👍🇱🇻
