So my take on the quote above the picture is:

"School/mass shootings are fine because evil is being restrained as there are firearms present"....

Incidentally, the bigger I see the picture the more it looks photoshopped..

Still a bunch of 'kin loonies though...

Not photoshopped, it's 100% genuine, Ogles is still proud of the photo, as it is him excercising his constitutional rights.

Listen for yourself, this was him yesterday when questioned by Sky News.

I'm pretty sure he's also the guy or at least one of them, who has just banned drag artists in Tennessee.

So to protect children he bans drag artists but allows people to buy assault rifles........seems about right for America.

The ban regarding drag artists as Some of their act is def more adult orientated , however I completely get your point about banning that but not guns . Very bizarre

But that was an issue . They were and some drag queens were inappropriately dressed and being vulgar etc . As I said adult entertainment . Indoor drag shows are fine it’s just outdoor ones which are banned .

They are batshit mental over there. Guns are fair game, but not kids sweeties....

‘Kinder Surprise is not available in the United States as the [FDA] has taken the position that a specific regulation relating to non-nutritive objects embedded in food stuff makes Kinder Surprise not suitable for sale and distribution in the US.

There was also a school principal in Florida last week that was forced to resign because pupils in 6th grade (11 and 12 year olds) were shown a picture of Michelangelo's statue of David....and a parent complained as it was "pornographic".

So can't do anything about people killing kids with gun, but have to stop them seeing pictures of famous statues

I’m sure our “mad cow disease” issue with the USA banning all British beef imports was only lifted a couple of years ago……..like our Aberdeen Angus beef V’s Homer Simpson’s favourite crusty burger, it’s a no brainier.

While it's true that many American politicians accept money from the NRA, it shouldn't be ignored that guns and gun culture are deeply imbedded in American society.  Americans love their guns!

40% of Americans live in a household that has a gun, and 30% of Americans own a gun.

While 73% of Democrats think gun violence is a problem, only 18% of Republicans feel that way.

The percentage of people in favour of stricter gun laws is declining.  It was 60% in 2019, but only 53% today.

Despite the outrage after every school shooting, don't expect anything to change any time soon.

They should finish their wee wall on their south border, then Canada can build one in the north and the rest of the world will pitch in for a lid.

Seal the nutters in and leave them to it.

We'll open it up in 100 years and see how things are going.

I'm also curious about the ownership of guns amongst even that 73% of Democrats who believe gun violence is a problem. I doubt they're all gun free.

Also think those numbers give an interesting insight into the urban vs rural divide on the issue.

One saving grace, I think this could have been a lot worse, luckily these cops got it right. Unlike the ones in Texas who sat outside as the shooter rampaged inside for over 70 minutes.

She was dead 4 minutes after they arrived.

I think a large reason for them getting this right was as the aftermath of Texas.

How alarming was the footage of the leading up to the wee girl being shot dead in Liverpool.

The guy is running and shooting from about 10 yards behind his target.

Target stumbles, attacker is above and somehow fails point blank.

Target legs it again and runs for an open front door, the girls mother had ventured out to see what the noise was.

How that decision must be playing on her mind.

What happens next, we already know. Edit, and obviously not shown (ITV news)

There millions of very good people in the USA, more than there is/are nut jobs. They just need to keep the nut jobs out of office.

Really grim, I've found it hard to deal with seeing this stuff recently, the war footage and that.

I hope I never get desensitised to stuff like that.

It was reported that he had two pistols, the point blank scenario is when the first pistol failed, the guy on the ground had a few seconds to get up and run.   How sad and tragically ironic that had the first pistol functioned properly the scumbag being chased would be dead and, the tragic little girl incident would not have happened.

Florida has just passed a bill that allows citizens to carry a concealed gun without a permit.

DeSantis says that he'll sign it into law next week.

  • 2 weeks later...

Not a school shooting but something that will always happen in a society littered with guns. Grievance murder.

  1. Five people have died in a shooting at a bank in the US city of Louisville, Kentucky
  2. One of those killed was the suspected shooter who police believe was a former employee of the bank

  • The shooter was identified as 23-year-old white male Connor Sturgeon. He used a rifle during the mass shooting, which killed four people and wounded at least eight others at the Old National Bank
  • The suspect was live streaming, but police are working to get the footage taken down

I hear he was an employee of the bank.

I guess this means that the Republican Party - with the cheerleading shrieking support of at least one JKB member - will now seek to ban people from working for banks.  :mw_rolleyes:

He was an employee, he had been told he would be fired. So he did what any freak would do, fetched a rifle and started shooting people. Live streaming of course.

Stupid people in the bank should have had their own guns. This would have prevented any deaths.

Customers and employees too, everybody packing, a real shoot out.

You're forgetting about the rest of the kids, shouldn't they all be packing too? Only a good kid with a gun can stop a bad kid with a gun.

The mother of the 6 year old who shot their teacher has been charged

I'm glad because she's to blame, from the beginning she claimed the gun was "secured"

Really? How is that possible when that secured gun shot a teacher coming close to killing her. How secure is a gun a 6 year old can access without you knowing? And not just that, the gun was fully loaded, the child couldn't have loaded it. Is that what passes for locked and loaded in her house?

To make matters worse this child has known long term severe behavioural problems, to the extent he's usually accompanied at school with a parent at all times. This was the first time he wasn't. And 6 years old or not, the cops say he did it with "intent"

The teacher is suing for millions and I hope she gets it, the bullet passed through her hand before entering her chest. The surgeons said if it hadn't gone through the hand first it would most likely have killed her. Luckily she instinctively raised her hand when she realised what was about to happen.

She still has fragments of that bullet in her chest, I believe she will get her millions and rightly so. This should never have happened but will probably happen again. In fact most definitely will though 6 year olds may be rare.

i've just read on the bbc that the gun the killer used will be auctioned off to the public.
