Boyce was after Levein. Halkett only started playing well long after Levein and Haring was out for a year partly due to Levein playing him in the final.

Wrong on all counts.

No bedding on the bed in the first picture. Packing up for a move?

If you're going to include players signed while he was DoF, the list of failures is going to skyrocket.

Was on the verge of moving to Bordeaux for 3m Euros in January. I'd be surprised if we were making moves for him.

Probably Joe is still writing the letter with a correct spelling of his name.  Worth it, just to hear Chick saying it right.

He was DOF for the entirety of his second stint wasn't he?

Simms Tommorow I'm calling it 👈

Going full on in and guessing he's travelling up to sign Tommorow going by his Instagram hint

You're no posting a pic like on social media like that unless it's relevant to your career

If you've just had a post removed, it was for spamming.

If you post anything else not related to Hearts transfers, you're going to be removed from the thread.

Yeh, suspect it will just be another loan though. My gut feeling is Evertons fee expectations and his own salary are insurmountable issues.

We can probably look forward to from January to the end of the season transfer speculation with 'Rangers being interested' :(

If it was me, I would go loan with option to buy. If he helps us to the Euro money again we can take that extra step , less risk.....

Looks like the Moffat to Edinburgh road, coming off the M74.

Somebody should tell him the Bigger road is better, FFS.

The sun is in his face from South West, so he is not driving North.  Defo looks like hills in Borders, but not a main trunk road.

Shit bedroom, I hope it is a rental with that print on the wall.

Could be east - towards Sheffield. Lot of coutryside like that around  there.

I’d be surprised if he wasn’t going to Edinburgh. He knows the amount of comments he gets from Hearts fans on Instagram and if it was to another club then I do t think he would bother posting that. Could be completely wrong though, and he’s just on a nice country drive!

But he wouldn’t be on shitty narrow rural road though I don’t think to get there.

No idea about Simms' Instagram but if he signs, I couldn't give a toss about any other signing that may or may not happen. At our level he is gold.

They key to me to finding it from that picture is the twin peaked hill in the distance. Seems pretty distinctive, and there is a hill to his right. The scenery does seem more Scottish than English hills.

Evened out by the number of promising young players who left for peanuts. No fees received for Paterson or Nicholson for a start. I suspect the transfer fee we'll eventually receive for Beni will dwarf that received for Lafferty, Sow and Hickey combined.

Steven MacLean

Uche Ikpeazu

Bobby Burns

Sean Clare

Jake Mulraney

Colin Doyle

Bobby Zlamal

Olly Lee

Ben Garuccio

Oli Bozanic

Peter Haring

Clevid Dikamona

Aidy White

David Vanecek

Craig Wighton

Steven Naismith

Jimmy Dunne

Conor Shaugnessey

Demi Mitchell

That's just one seasons recruitment under CL. How many of those could you actually say were a success at Hearts? 3?

Many of above made reasonable contributions without being 'crackers'

Also , people like Mulraney , made us money .

But I was referring to all his signings . Think your list is quite selective . Currently Haring , Halkett , Smith , I think , were Levein's signings . He would have signed Gordon too if Celtic hadn't vetoed it .

I don't , for a minute , claim Levein all good but find the Levein all bad argument tedious .

Also , overall , inaccurate

That list was the summer transfer window of 2018, you could also look at the summer window of 2019 and come up with the same conclusions. His signing record while manager was mostly wasteful and ill conceived. If you want to include his signings while overseeing anther manager, it only gets worse.

Agreed.

All managers make good/bad signings and while Rowles, Grant et al look good on paper we still don't know if they'll ultimately be good signings in Hearts colours.  We do have a distinct advantage right now in that we have more money than recent managers had available, which enables us to operate in a better market: we need to make that tell - but there are no guarantees.  Hindsight is a wonderful thing.

Looking at the Simms Instagram photo in the bedroom, he has stripped the bed, maybe washing the sheets or maybe packing up to leave 🫰🫰

Great thing is we now have a dedicated recruitment dept and , I'm pretty sure , this will make our success rate much better .
