I'd imagine Gordon, Natty and Roycie will get some extended time off? We could do with Shanks before Spain 🤞

Genuine question

See the Millwall lad Celtic signed - I’d never heard of him - but were a tonne of people bumming his ass before he moved?

Best tautology ever.

Saw natty on Instagram and was still in Bali

Finlay James

I’ve never heard of Jorge Grant but asked a couple of mates that follow championship and league one teams in England and they rate him very highly.  Apparently he was a stand out at Lincoln where he played in an advanced midfield role but played in a more defensive midfield role in a struggling Peterborough team and he never got going.

If our scouting team has identified him as a signing good enough for Hearts, I’m fully on board.

I asked this last week and it seems that Rowles said in an interview he is due over early July.  Would make sense as it would give them around 3 weeks off.

If we bring in Grant & Shankland then how many more do you think we need? Do you think Neilson will then wait for Simms & risk not getting him or go after another Striker

Would say we still need:

A left back/LWB

Another striker

A right winger/right mid (or two)

A right back (if smith goes/can’t maintain fitness).
Possibly another AM

Possibly another LW

Possibly another keeper

And the club seem to want another CB.

I would say that centrehalf and centre/holding midfield are the only positions with any depth.

if McKay or Boyce are injured we currently have nobody to stand in. Even with Grant and Shankland, we still have no cover for the front four if we play 4231.

I think he’ll sign another striker and put Simms on the back burner. We can’t really wait for Everton on this. an experienced centre back still needed and I think we’ll get Ronan too. Apart from a couple of loans late in the window I think that’ll be us.

🤗 JOKING 🤗

If they want to sell him they’re not going to say he’s sh*t before they’ve done a deal

Disclaimer : I’m not saying he’s sh*t I’ve never heard of the guy just stating the obvious really

That is a lot, maybe one day we will look to bring that sort of depth in & we will be a hell of a lot closer to the old firm if we do but for me I can’t see

personally I think we will get

ST (preferably Simms if not another loan deal)

LB (wouldn’t mind Cochrane back but can’t see it)

winger (who can play on either win

Am Grant & McKay can play there along with Boyce dropping deep

GK I would really like Stone to be in the first team squad this season

Robbie McCrorie is an interesting one, can't believe man utd are interested in him, stone going out on loan again would be good, but happy for him to be Craig's backup.

Yeah, above would depend on outgoings and is definitely aspirational.

Depends on formation. In a 4231 we presumably start McKay, Boyce and Grant behind Shankland. That still leaves us going to the likes of Gino or GMS for cover. I’d want at least one more player who can play across that line. Possibly two.

How's the squad looking then if we include Shankland, Grant, Simms, Ronan too it.

Anyone able to do a list with them included would be appreciated 👍

Squad of 25:

Gordon

Backup

Kingsley

new LB

Rowles

Halkett

Neilson

Atkinson

Smitn

Benni

Pete

Cam

McEneff

McKay

Grant

GMS

Gino

Boyce

Shankland

3rd forward

Thats still only 20 players with three more signings beyond Shankland and Grant.

I’ll definitely be forgetting somebody obvious, but are the last 4/5 all going to be youth players?

Even then, there seem to be two or three soft targets for an upgrade - although maybe that’s for the January window.

Getting Ronan in,  as well as Grant would give us an extremely good midfield with plenty options/cover

Get Simms up on Loan again and a direct replacement for Souttar we look on paper a really strong side

The caveat for Souttar was that was on transfer deadline day. I think the latest I have seen on a non-transfer deadline day has been around 8pm.

I've always been in Shankland's camp. If we get that ball to him in and around the box at Tynie, I can see him excelling.

We've got plenty more business to come imo.

Another centre-back is a definite. Who plays RCB in this squad? Lewis Neilson is one for the future and Sibbick looks uncomfortable there. Probably looking to get someone with experience given the rumours we were after Trent Sainsbury.

Cochrane will need replaced.

Neilson has spoken about getting 2 pacy attackers who can play wide or up front (i.e. upgrades on Gino). That doesn't apply to Simms, Shankland or Grant so there's a bit of business to be done there as well.

I also expect we'll try to move GMS, Gino and McEneff on.

GMS might stay for our home based European squad. Not sure how many Scottish players we'll need or have.

Atkinson is in Bali at the moment so he won’t be training for at least a week.
