I don’t think they can be dismissed out of hand but there apparently isn’t any set of figures gathered this way for a devolved govt anywhere in the world. I’ve asked why there is no or hasn’t ever been any English version of these. A few people say well England isn’t devolved but neither was Scotland in 1992 when they started publishing these figures. Bit strange that is imo. They were used to dampen calls for Scotland breaking away from the uk and when you think back to 1992 I can’t even recall there being much appetite for it then, maybe I’m wrong though. There’s lots of arguments about how the figures are estimated, and it’s all became a bit of yet another bun fight between the two sides with neither side willing to retreat an inch or accept any alternative view. That way if can be proved that a tangible argument for self sustainability and income exists and these are the benefits.
