HeartOfWestLothian

Good result for the coefficient.

Finishing 3rd this season and next could really set us up financially with the European group stage football via the conference league.

Last 8 in the EL

RB Leipzig

Atalanta

Rangers

Barcelona

Braga

Eintracht Frankfurt/Real Betis (ET)

West Ham/Sevilla (ET)

Lyon

The only side that I think Rangers would have a chance against is Braga.

I agree with him tbf. Red Star could've scored 6 or 7 today and a good few last week.

You were good against Dortmund but that performance seemed like a one (or two) off

Hey ! read posts of people who say the are HMFC supporters on this site , I have never denied being  a supporter of the Champions and have never criticised HMFC,  so if my comment of calling someone a dafty I'll take my ban or suspension.

Site is full of Hibs fans ..

They've done well. Over the course of two games they could probably fancy themselves against half those teams.

Really?

The only side I'd say they have little chance is v Barca who are hitting a bit of form.

They'll have a good chance v any of the others I reckon.

In this occasion he has a point though.

They've knocked out 2 highly rated teams, scoring 10 goals in the process, and  despite wide pre match predictions that each would pump them.

i don't honesty see them winning the thing but there's a few in the last 8 they must fancy themselves against next round.

Coulda Woulda Shoulda !!

Fact is they are deservedly in the last 8 and I see 4 teams at least who are not as good as Dortmund and who I’d fancy Rangers to knock out.

On the other hand there are 3 left in who are a class above Rangers even at their best, so they’re probably not going to win it but a decent draw sees them in the semis IMO and anything can happen from there.

Rangers only have one hope, getting west ham, as they'll only lose narrowly against them. The rest will put 6 past them.

Fair enough.

But I thought that's what Dortmund were going to do.

The Sun are saying winners of league are into group stages of Champions League for next 2 seasons.

I don't think that they will fear anyone left in the draw. I hate them as much as anyone, but they have a decent chance of winning the tournament.

I guess the question is if sevco don't manage it this year can they stay alive long enough to try again next year? Who knows but a few"assets" will need to be sold weekening their chances.

Malinga the Swinga

Thought Dortmund would be far too strong for Sevco. They should fear no-one in last 8.

The only team I would grudgingly want them to beat are West Ham.

Poxy club, playing in stadium I helped pay for, while their millionaire owners reap the rewards. A small insignificant club, now gradually attracting glory hunting supporters, who all of course, claim to be life long fans.

Probably the best draw for them, and one they can probably win.

Shame it wasn't Barcelona.

If they win, the semi final draw is:

Winner of Leipzig v Atalanta v Winner of Braga v Rangers

The way the draw is made now is crap. Should be all four winners back in the bag and get a surprise.

Agreed.  I don't like the idea of knowing who you're going to be playing ahead of time.

I can't see Rangers getting past the semi finals.  Braga is a decent draw for them (jammy bar stewards), but then it's difficult no matter who they play.  Shame.

No matter what you think of Sevco, and I despise their very existence with every fibre of my being, you can't deny they have done a remarkable job so far in Europe.

Get intae thum Braga!!!! :gun_bandana::gun_bandana::gun_bandana:

Not sure I agree with those saying any team in that list would batter The Rangers - they would’ve wanted to avoid Barcelona, West Ham and Atlanta, but the rest ?
