Some of the boys have been in doing light work to tick over but pre season officially starts on Friday so we still have two days to get them in before then, which is the good news. Was told the Campbell deal was never feasible even with Anderson on board. Luton will probably pay 3 or 4 times what we could offer him even if we were in for him. Considering how much work has to (or should do) go into preparing for a season and big part of that being gelling of new players - which we need more than a few - it’s unsettling to not be close to signing anyone. Obviously covid will have hit them but will have hit us as well, match day revenue is a much much bigger proportion for us whereas they get more from TV, significantly more. The days of us attracting high end players over EPL clubs, particularly in the championship are gone. The tv money as you say blows us out of the water, and will continue to do so until some sort of restructure is brought into play for the Scottish game from top to bottom. People don’t realise how much these players are on in that league it’s staggering. This is why Savage’s knowledge of the leagues is so so important.
