Apart from a couple of games, we have been consistently grim. It’s all very well blaming the defence but the main problem is midfield. We don’t have a ball winner or a midfielder capable of acting defensively. Halliday is not the answer, along with Roberts and Frear, he should be shown the door. That's now Alloa, Dundee, Dunfermline and Raith who've embarrassed us so far. You can add East Fife to that for all but 2 minutes of the 90 odd plus dismal performances against Arbroath and others that we’ve got away with. Today was not a blip. We’ve played 12 games in a shit league and lost 25% of our games. We’re arguably every bit as bad as last season.

Playing in their first match of the year after a Covid-19 outbreak, Raith led thanks to Gozie Ugwu's debut goal. Regan Hendry then had a penalty saved by Craig Gordon before Manny Duku converted from the spot after the break to double the advantage. Reghan Tumilty added a third before Liam Boyce's consolation brace. It was Raith's first win at Tynecastle since December 1993 - an especially remarkable achievement given they had trained just once since the club was effectively closed down to combat a rash of Covid cases. Former Hearts goalkeeper Jamie MacDonald played his part with stunning stops from Steven Naismith and Stephen Kingsley, before another astonishing stop denied Naismith a leveller in stoppage-time. Robbie Neilson was shown a red card at full time after protesting to referee John Beaton but, despite this setback, his side remain six points clear at the top of the division. The sides meet again in a rearranged fixture on Tuesday in Kirkcaldy (19:45 GMT).

We cannot protest with our feet. - STs are already paid for, so refusing to watch via Hearts TV is futile. - Stop subscribing to FOH harms the club but could be last resort. My annual Hearts TV membership is due to be paid soon. Cancelling my subscription might be my only option. Thankfully, all the other clubs ae taking points off each other. Note the three teams behind us have all beaten us in the league this season. Not sure why Robbie was so upset with the ref. He seemed determined to get a red card. Hats off to our ex coach and ex goalie. Classic deflection. In the presser it'll be all about how we were in complete control and if it hadn't been for the ref cheating us and some excellent saves from the keeper we'd have strolled it. He's already used this approach a couple of times this season - it's straight from the CL playbook.

hearts00
If we take this game in isolation it was just one of those days. As soon as we properly upped it in the 2nd half we looked like scoring every attack. Some unreal saves and a couple of poor misses. However, the individual defensive errors today were unacceptable. What Neilson has to take responsibility for however is he has not figured the midfield and overall formation out yet.
