Can’t quite believe they’re playing in Edinburgh. Brilliant band live - will get a ticket tomorrow.

Will add that to the diary along with Gun and When Rivers Meet in May.

Swithering over the Who.

Also got a ticket for the Osees.

Thinking about Gun.  I still have a signed Gallus cd and poster from HMV or Virgin back in the day.

That’s a cracking album. £30 for a ticket ain’t bad. Ticket bought today for AB.

Delighted to not be having to head along the M8 to see a decent band.

Captain Slog

I've got a real problem about a gig at the Glasgow Hydro next month.

I'd like to see Lordi, me liking Eurovision and all that.

Would love to see Sabaton who are heading.

However, the support band is Babymetal.  I get that they are on the bill, Sabaton isn't that different from Dragon Force after all.

My problem is it's not really Babymetal without Yui anymore, I'd love to see them, but will be so sad it isn't the original line up.

That post called to mind a band called "Dread Zeppelin"

* Led Zep songs

* to a reggae beat

* sung by an Elvis imitator

I went to see them at the Edinburgh Venue I think roughly 1990. They were brilliant.

Ladies and gentlemen Tortelvis has left the building :)

I am heading to see DEVO in London in August.

Shame they aren't playing Scotland, but at least it is a Saturday so a wee city break as well.

Devo tickets in London at Eventim Apollo on Sat, Aug 19, 2023

Yup. I saw Dread Zeppelin at Glasgow College of Building and Printing on December 1990.

Cracking gig. Absolutely nuts.

Gonna see The Bonnevilles again next Tuesday, absolutely brilliant live punk-garage-blues 2 piece from Lurgan.

Their music is featured heavily in new BBC cop show Blue Lines so hoping that gets them the public exposure they deserve, if you're not up to anything I couldn't recommend them higher

They played the Usher Hall five years or so ago. Great gig and good venue for their show. Kennedy and Tremonti have cracking voices on them.

London Calling tonight at Liquid Rooms - Clash tribute

Never seen them before and I’ve heard mixed reviews. Playing the first album track by track - the best album ever cut in the history of music 🙂

That thing you do

The Mrs is a big Depeche Mode fan or as I call them "Depish Mode".

And they are in Mexico City in a few months and being the loving husband I am, I agreed to go. The venue holds 80,000 should be interesting. Would expect no more than 8 listen to their durge but apparently people like them.

Imagine Dragons play the same venue in May and I might try to get tickets for that.

That last paragraph completely nullifies your argument.  Imagine Dragons are boy band music for teenage girls.  Truly chronic stuff.

I prefer it to Depish Mode and actually quite like it.

So as is the idea, like the music, go to the gig, hate it, go if the wife asks!

They'll be at Madison Sq Garden shortly and IIRC one of their world tours set a record for gate receipts. I don't get it myself.

I'm going to see Depeche Mode for the first time at Twickenham.   Its with a group of lads so will be booze-soaked either way.

Also have The Boss, Osees, Interpol, Guns N Roses, Maiden, Alter Bridge, and Amyl and the Sniffers to come.

I'm taking wee daughter to Depeche Mode at Twickenham.

Her first Depeche Mode gig. My 13th. Both really looking forward to it.

Next gig is Peter Hook and the Light.

Not my usual genre but sabaton are great, would love to see them live. Atleast a dozen or so songs I love. Maybe due to them being about historical battles/campaigns

That gig looks to be at too big a venue.  Surprised its not at the O2 or Barrowlands.

I don't think Sabaton are particularly big or well known.

Worked on an in person event with Simon Fowler recently. Absolutely lovely bloke but suffering badly with hip problems. Audience was riddled with absolute arseholes.

Prefer Peter Hook and the Light.

Would prefer if either released some new music than tour.

Will go to Hydro but be a bit hacked off if no new songs.

8 years since Music Complete and Hooky's contributed a couple of basslines for other acts, so it's slim pickings.

Hooky is playing the two Joy Division albums taking on the role of Ian Curtis at the O2 on Thursday.
