A Boy Named Crow

Was meant to be at Royale With Cheese, a 90s tribute night at a pub in Rozelle last night, but they postponed it to the 10th of September.  Seems a very long time to be looking forward to a pub band do a covers night 🤠

Rage Against The Machine have just cancelled their European tour including the UK, which means Ingliston is out.

Shame as I was looking forward to it.

As was I but to be honest would it be much of a Rage show with Zach on a seat?

Primal Scream and Happy Mondays at Cardiff Castle the other week was superb.

The Cure In December.

Been to more gigs in past couple years than I've done in years past.. Pent up frustration being a shielder and dealt with skin cancer at that time, now giving zeros, life too short.

Johnny Cash Roadshow - Usher Hall

Nick Cave - Playhouse

Blondie - Hydro

The Wedding Present - Edinburgh (can't recall name of venue but decent).

Alan Partridge - Playhouse

Richard Ashcroft with Cast as support (top notch)- Ingliston

Anne- Marie - Hydro (with daughter but still enjoyed).

Missed The Pixies and still gritting on me.

Happy Mondays in North Berwick. It feels weird just typing that.

They could have been the biggest band in the world and they blew it . Sad, I thought they were brilliant.

The Stone Roses and Happy Mondays both imploded. Liam Gallagher said they formed Oasis because they were fed up waiting for them to release something.

For all the talk of The Beatles I think it was the influence of the Roses and Monday’s that made Oasis. Shakermaker reminds me of Lazyitis and the guitar solos on Slide away are like I am the Resurrection.

Andrea Boccelli a week on Tuesday for my next gig, guess that’s what happens when you are half cut and he does nessun dorma to open the euros last year!

So far this year we’ve seen Skunk Anansie at the O2, Alice Cooper and the cult at the hydro, Therapy? In Cologne and Nick Harper at the Jazz Bar.

Only other tickets booked are Clutch in November and Ozzy with Judas Priest next summer (maybe/hopefully)

Picked up tickets yesterday for Death Cab for Cutie at the Usher Hall next March. Fairly excited for that, been wanting to see them for near enough 20 years and never quite managed it.

Pretty good. Saw them almost exactly 25 years ago in New York and they’ve still got it. Ian McCulloch has had some ill health on the tour so he was sitting for the most of the gig until the encores, but he did fine.

Went Thursday, he was on form. There was an entertaining fight up the back. I suppose that's what happens when folk have 2and half hours of pre show bevvy.

Did you have the Irish lad and Susie McCabe as his warm up.

His covid stuff was my favourite. Captain Tom's Daughter's tits and teeth and the three point turn in the supermarket aisle. Hawl ma Da has asthma ya dick.

There was a scrap the night we were there too while he was talking  about mental health.

This was in the posh seats near the stage.

A comedy show :D

The worst was in the multistory carpark. Some old ***** blew a gasket, cause nae ***** would let him out . Screaming and threatening folk , then he turned on the people in his motor. The driver lost it with him and they were gonnae scrap. He's a lucky man, no-one jumped out and stiffened him. And something tells me, whomever was in the car, will smash him when they get home.

Oh I was looking up the Hearts score and I'm sure the lad behind me was anaw . Small world.

More bother last night apparently.

My Mrs was there last night and said there was a load of schemie steamers falling about and a couple of half decent scraps considering how pished the belligerents appeared to be.

Damned at the O2 on 4 Nov is the only thing I currently have lined up.  Original line up as well, which I wasn't old enough to see back in the day.  Machine Gun Etiquette tour was the first I saw and Brian James was no longer in the band.

Edit - just saw PTBCAL's post above mine, the Skids are one of the supports, along with TV Smith

Absolutely.

I was born in 1972, so I missed the early days of Roxy.

But that first album must have seemed like it landed from space.

I got into Ferry and Roxy about 1977. Mates where I stayed were big fans moreso than Bowie. I've seen both Ferry and Roxy a few times. The music never gets boring. Ferry is a great songwriter, especially the early Roxy stuff.

The first album has been noted somewhere as one the best first albums of all time. Their first 5 albums are all stand outs.
