Apparently Boyce scored for fun against Killie when he was a County player, here's hoping that trend continues.

According to EEN, Smith is available.  If that is right, he will shore up that defence and make the night more comfortable.

3-1.

Tom Hardy’s Dug

So this is where it gets important.

Our last two away games were draws but on balance my view remains that if we are largely unbeaten against the bottom six away from home BUT win basically nearly all our home games against them we are safe.

I think tonight is must win in that respect. On top of anything else we need to show we have actually turned a corner.

If we don’t beat a bottom 6 team at home in the position we are in I would be concerned we haven’t turned that corner after all.

I happen to think we have but the proof is in the pudding.

We could also open up a 3 point gap on Hamilton should results go our way this evening. Given that we have Celtic next, that gap would be very welcome.

You would play Michael Smith at RW or AMC/R?

Based on what?

Based on Clare finding an effective place to be in the team + Smith being totally versatile and dependable.

When you have a player like Smith,   you slot him into the team on the basis of where others are doing well.

For me,   the 4321 with Smith in the 3 is a stiffer version of what we are doing.

Absolutely agree , a versatile and dependable player is a mangers dream , especially with defensive qualities, Smith is certainly that 👍

Im clearly not playing him at right wing!
I am basing it on his athleticism, how well he has played in midfield and how Stendel wants us to play.

Sean Clare is a great out for him on the overlap, and I think he could work well with Clare’s energy, he has Langer holding fire behind him, Irving playing passes around him, he has scored a couple of goals from outside the box, he has the energy to get up and down, he can spot a pass, he can comfortably support the front players and he can break stuff down further up the park.

3.1 Home win, They don't score many away but we looked dodgy at the back cant see a clean sheet being kept. But think we have enough going forward and will be to strong for them.

Naisy and Boyce double for me.

Bridge of Djoum

             Joel

Clare Halkett Souttar White/Hickey

           Smith Irving

Washington Naismith Meshino

                 Boyce

Smith dropping back to cover when the full backs are committed high up the park. We need to find a way of teams not hitting us over the top. We are capable of scoring, but we are exposed badly at times.

3-1 Hearts.

Yeah he was alright against Saints and had a good half against Rangers. We need to change the wingers though, they offered next to nothing in Perth.

If Smith is back, I would play him at right back and push Clare to right midfield.

It's a good shout but we get a lot of graft out of Washington. I think we'll look to use the full backs in an attacking sense. Clare should stay there with Washington ahead of him. IMO.

I'd play Washington on the left and probably drop Meshino.  Doubt he will be up for the physical side against Killie tonight.

Either way we seem to have a lot of quality options. Good times.
